I have recently had a quiz taken off line for a spelling mistake.
I am "ticked off" for a couple of reasons.
The first is that the quiz has been on line for while now with no problems.
The second is that the mis-spelled word was 'asylum' I had spelt it 'assylum'. This was a deliberate 'mistake' as I wanted to give players a chance to get the correct answer.
The third reason is, after explaining my reasons, I received a reply saying that "players can figure out correct and incorrect answers on their own"
I'm sorry, but in numerous cases, I have found this not to be so, and that hints are required.
I have made the changes, under protest, but wanted to take the time to vent and get 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinions.
Thanks for allowing me that.
Mick

It is editorial policy that quizzes should not be pulled offline for minor spelling errors; these should be fixed by the editor. I am sorry that you had a problem with this.

That being said, deliberate misspelling of answers is something that we don't allow. If you feel a question is too difficult, simply reword or rewrite the question and its possible answers.

I have a quiz, where one of the characters from the book is asking the questions(Dudley Dursley) so I deliberately put some spelling mistakes in the questions (my excuse and I am sticking to it) and warned anyone complaning about speiling and grama could expect me to come around with my Smelting stick, so far I have only had to pay two visits.

Chris

The 'spelling mistake' was the name of a place. I made up that place, therefore it cannot have been spelled incorrectly.
For example, I could have called it "dunromin", which is used in place of 'Done Roaming'.
I was just very frustrated, and I see that my quiz is still not back on line.
