Just an excuse to get the eth ð and small thorn þ letters seen on the index, and a chance to see them in action in a real sentence. By translating to 'this thread' you'll see the sounds of the 2 old letters, and maybe I can revive them a bit! After all, why use two letters when you can use one? What do you þink?

It looks like something that would get served up in the Indian Restaurant up in the thread in The World Around Us.

So pardon my ignorance, how does one actually key in these particular characters?

For eth, hold down the Alt key and type 0240, like this ;ð
For thorn, hold down the Alt key and type 0254, like this: þ.

Speaking about the typing of "unusual" characters:
Can anybody tell me how to type the Spanish "n" with the wave on top (as it is supposed to be in Espana) and the Swedish "a" with the circle on top (as it´s supposed to be in ar)?

Go to the nearest computer stuff shop and look for an old second hand spanish keyboard.

Or wait for some sane person to answer.

I would guess that:

• For ñ you hold down Alt and type 0241.
• For å you hold down Alt and type 0229.

Somehow I can never get these 'Alt + ####' combinations to work on my computer, so to insert the characters in this post, I 'cheated', and used the Windows Character Map (charmap.exe)! The codes I've given here are just from intuition, and my handy-dandy HTML code list.

Confirmation will be appreciated!
