I just installed an avatar, and I wanted to know whether you can see it. If you can, then I have to thank tellywellies and shadowhippie for their explanations in this forum.
If it didn´t work, I will blame it on the same two guys.

Chris, is it something blue and bouncy? If so, I am sure that Tellywellies and Shadowhippie mentioned are happy

Yep, that´s it. Awesome!
But I also have to give some credit to myself, for understanding what they were saying.

Sorry to say: I see a box with a red X. It takes an awfully long time to load, too.

Just to say the same blank box with a red cross here. No technical knowledge here except I know that it means it knows you've linked something but can't display it for some reason.

It was visible a few hours ago, but isn't now. I have this feeling that your IOWNJOO server might be down, that happens fairly often with them. Hopefully it'll be okay after a while.

Oops, it has gone again, Chris. Only the red cross thingy now...

Red X to me too. It might be either:
1. AOL Web Restrictions
2. Broken URL
3. Incorrect URL (or non-existing URL)
4. Maybe the computer might have an error in it and won't work.
5. Possibly it needs to be a jpg or a gif. Maybe some others work too.

That is weird because I can still see it. I'll try to figure out what happened.
Anyway, thanks for your help everybody.

It's there now Chris, seems like Harish's explaination about the site being down as the best one.
Other times you would be able to see if if no one else can because it's cached on your computer.

If the iownjoo server really was the problem, do you have any idea how often or how long they shut it down?
Do you have better experiences with other servers?

I think most servers go off-line occasionally. It's probably for maintenance reasons, or maybe a failure has occurred for some reason or another. This being the case, it's probably best to accept it as being just one of those things. Changing to a different place probably wouldn't lessen the chances of the image disappearing once in a while.

Sometimes it may not be the server itself. I suppose it could just be a router in between the site where the image is situated and FunTrivia.

Yup. The avatar is working now. Don't know why it didn't come up.
