"Most wines do not improve with age". - How true. The back-labels on some of my local supermarket's plonk include the words "We recommend that you drink this wine within six months of purchase". I feel like telling them "For God's sake, I only live just round the corner; I'll be drinking it in six MINUTES!"

"White wine can be produced from red grapes". - Yes, a blanc de noirs champagne beats blanc de blancs any day.

From the Dutch "brandewijn" we also got Pennsylvania's Brandywine river and valley. A famous Revolutionary battle was fought in that area, the Du Pont family built their chemical empire there, and Howard Pyle founded the Brandywine School of art and illustration there, the most famous pupil being N.C. Wyeth and his illustrious (I think the pun most revelant!) family of artists. tjoeb};>
