Following my earlier post here on double company names, I found our personal favourite loo roll, Delsey, lost over 20 years ago in the UK, was still available abroad. I sent Kimberly-Clark, the manufacturers, an email asking why, and received this reply
saying 'we are sorry, Kimberly-Clark do not make, and have never made Delsey toilet roll.' Had she read her own company's website before letting this email go, she would have saved herself looking a total idiot.
Here is the proof.
I am also thinking of using this picture as my avatar, Delsey original toilet roll except it is a bit too big (NB Kleenex, on the lower corner, are also made by K-C, as are Scott. )
So next time anyone lets a clanger go on FT, don't feel too bad, people paid for their expertise do far worse- this is just a rare example who got caught!
