Just wondering if many people buy things with credit cards from the Internet often. How safe do you find it? How can you really tell if it is a safe/secure site to give your details to?
I've ordered stuff online but have always paid over the phone ... I'd feel funny about just leaving my credit card details floating about in cyberspace.

We’ve bought quite a number of items online over the space of a few years now. Things are often less expensive bought this way. Although I was a bit worried to start with, we have never had any unaccounted for sums appearing on the credit card bill.
Time has proved that if a company say their site is secure then it is, although I sometimes still have a ‘hope they are right’ feeling about it. However, there are no troubles to report so far.
It therefore seems that shopping online is no more risky than any other form of credit card shopping.

I've downloaded a couple of software applications and paid for them by credit card. I've also bought DVDs and books once or twice.
I've had no trouble so far. I'm sure it's just as safe as ordinary mail order. The thing I would feel unsure about would be giving my card to a waiter in a restaurant and letting him go away with it: that's a place I'd always pay cash.
