....I have AN answer to each of the questions, but I'm far from 100% sure of them !

Q1) What innovation pointing to a brave new world was launched in 1994 ?

(I thought this MIGHT be the WWW or maybe Mosaic the first Internet Browser, but I don't think the dates fit)

Q2)What number should replace the ? in this square

I have found TWO possible answers to this ! If you add together the columns, the first totals 11, the second totals 22, so replacing the ? with a 6 would give us 33. However, if you make the answer 2, then Row 1 = Row 3 + Row 4 and Row 2 = Row 1 + Row 4. Both seem equally valid ???

Any help with these would be GREATLY appreciated and if you'd like to see the FULL quiz it is at

Never mind, I'll just have to go with what I've got. I can't believe that no-one has even got a SUGGESTION for the first question ! :-(

I've been thinking about the second question for so long, I overlooked the first one!

I'd go with the 11-22-33 answer for the square btw.

...if you come up with any better suggestions than the WWW for the "innovation" question, please post it up and I'll check it out ! I just don't know where to start though !

I think that the quizmakers have been looking at something like the second site rather than the first 2, as I really can't think of ANYTHING else that might fit the question. I actually work in computers, and I was using "the Internet" way before 1994, and I know the history of ARPAnet etc. so it might not actually be factually correct, however I suspect it is probably the answer that they are looking for !

Incidentally, returning to the "magic square/rectangle" question - why would you favour the "11, 22, 33" answer rather than the other one when there is more "proof" with the second one (i.e more matches) ?
