I have 4 definites - angling, badminton (presumably this is the same as badmitten), ice hockey and quoits.
However there are two more depending on the definition of net - these being discus and hammer in field sports (the net being a safety net).

Presuming "Angling" is fishing. Quoits, as I recall from childhood, is something similar to horseshoes, tossing a ring at a peg, trying to land the ring ON the peg. Don't recall the rules, distances, etc however. Certainly don't remember a net used for anything???

Sorry, I keep forgetting that English is a foreign language (;0)))) ). Angling is indeed what we English call fishing and quoits is a game played on board ships, similar to tennis except no racquets or balls but rings made from rope. These are then thrown over a net to the opposing player. A quality, quick game played by quaint people (and other words starting with qu)

You guys have managed to get 4 so far...hammer doesn't count as it is a ball on a chain but Discus does count.
I have never heard of quoits. Can you please explain this game again.

Trapeze...mmmmmmmmm...isn't really a sport. It is a circus act. Sorry...doesn't count.
Also, trampolining doesn't count as they use a streched canvas and not a net.

Paddle tennis maybe? Does boxing count" There is a net around the arena.

Mmmmmmmm...paddle tennis..do they use a ball in that game. As far as boxing is concerned thay fight in a ring with ropes....there is no net. good try.

Butterfly catching is a hobbie and not a sport. Keep it up !!!

'S OK Joe - I'm still chuckling over that. What a geat answer ('Butterfly Hunting' - I loved it.) What caliber is a butterfly gun?
And do you skin 'em and eat 'em, or what?

And yeah, Trapeze could certainly qualify as a "sport", with the effort expended. Don't know if it's competitive, though; maybe in gymnastics? Anyway, I'm sure Sypher had a certain 6 in mind at the beginning. I'm awaiting the answer expectantly.

I have checked high and low on this one. I think the last two are either going to be flat out obvious or obsolete little sports that no one has heard of without a sports dictionary of some kind! (And I want that dictionary for future reference )

Sorry TexasJoe that I couldn't give the answer before the weekend as this is the first time back on it since.

Here are the sports :

1. Badminton
2. Ice Hockey
3. Discus
4. Fishing
5. Quoits (well done...on this sport)

And the one no-one got is........

6. Rally Driving. (they have a net over the side windows to stop shrapnel and other flying objects hitting them in the face)

Someone at work has suggested a sport called 'Octopush'. I have said I would post this answer but with the reservation that it may not be known worldwide.
It os a cross between ice hockey and underwater swimming, the object being that a puck is pushed by the swimmer using a flat stick type implement and goals are scored by pushing the puck into a net.
