I rarely down load zip files. But I did the other day and found there is no unzip on my computer. The unzip used to be included in all the down load pages. The last time I need it I downloaded a trial copy I think and I guess it is gone now.
Anyway I am having a hard time finding a free download. I really don't mind buying it, I think it show $10 on the PK site, but I am not going to put CC numbers on my computer with the latest attacks going around. The PK site referred to a free trial copy but it won't work.
Does anyone know if it is available for free down load.

What type of system are you running?

Have you downloaded and used a trial copy of PK before? It is possible that if it is a timed trial copy, it will not let you reinstall the trial again.

If you are running Windows, I recommend trying Winzip, which you can find free versions of at the Winzip website.

The "Evaluation Version" is what you want.

Otherwise, a lot of old DOS games come with old versions of PK Zip, and if you aren't running Windows XP, you might be able to extract it that way.

I've been using WinRAR ever since my son said he reckoned it was the best one. I'm not sure it is much different to any other zip utility but WinRAR claims to compress files smaller than the competition when it comes to zipping them up (e-mail attachments for instance). It can compress them to .zip format, or the .rar format, which is supposed to be smaller and therefore better. Winzip can unzip .rar files but cannot create them. The program is also try before you buy.

Just another one to consider anyway.
