I have WordPerfect on my computer (far from perfect in my opinion) and am applying to a college online. The application requires an essay. You have to write the essay on a word processor than upload it to their website. The problem is, I wrote it in WordPerfect, and this format is not accepted. What are my options here? I do not want to re-type my long essay and I do not have a floppy drive on my computer.

You neglected to say what format is required. My MSWord will save in several formats including Word Perfect and I am sure WordPerfect will do the same. Just choose the type required. If not you will have to find a program that will covert it. Floppies are all but extent. If you are moving it to another machine, just use the CDR.

I use WordPerfect of choice. Go to File and then Save As, there is a drop down menu which should allow you to save as Word. Good luck.

It accepts plain text, rich text, MS word, MS works, and Adobe. How do I choose a different format?
