Following on my webcam plans to fit it to a new computer arriving shortly, I decided to set up a spare free site to link to my MSN site if necessary. My first choice was Dot tk, from Tokelau in the Pacific.
Not being a programmer, I now have the link up to my existing MSN site, but I have now idea how to write a new page to run my webcam (or any future pages). Are there any tk site owners or experts who can tell me

1) Does the new TK address only act as a free link to old sites or can you write new stuff on a non-MSN site format

2) If so, do you need to be or employ a proper HTML wizard to do this, or are there standard pages that can be downloaded ?

3) And can anyone recommend how/where to set up a URL link to a webcam, or does that come as part of its software already?
(It will work on messenger so any volunteers click on my name after a week or two and if I'm online we can test it out).

I don't know much about webcams, but I do know some things about the Tokelua domain names. This country in the Pacific has sold its right to issue domain names to a Dutch company. They offer free domains and also paid services. I assume you have registered a free URL? If so, it's not really a free site that you've created. You've rented (without paying, but still) another name for your existing website, probably easier to remember. At the dot.tk website it says this:

If you don't have at least 25 visitors coming to your .tk URL every 90 days, your URL will be rented to somebody else.

So, to put up your webcam, you'd either have to make it work on your existing MSN site, or create another free homepage at one of the many free homepage sites.

I did some googling and I found a site that might be of some help to you, called Webcamworld. It has a step by step explanation of how to get your web cam to work. Although it also has some small pictures of semi-nude women (be warned), the information they give seems to be useful and is definitely not sex related.

If it's all too complicated, you could try Camarades. They offer free web cam software. When you install it, it automatically creates a site at Camarades for you. One disadvantage is that anyone who wants to watch your web cam has to register (for free) with Camarades as well. There might be other disadvantages as well, but I couldn't find them on a first look.
