After todays game against Ulster, Martin Johnson has announced he is retiring from international rugby
It will be a long time till there's a better England Captain and what better way to leave than carrying the World Cup

He was a great player and captain, no doubt. Will be hard to fill his shoes .... who is taking over??

Aren't quite a few of the English players heading towards the OAP line? England will have to do some work to be the same force at the next world cup.

We don't bother about things like that Jillian, we will live on the glory of that win for the next thirty or forty years, by then the football team might actually win again, it is their turn!

Ain't it obvious who will take over? The King is dead. Long live Sir Jonny! England will not be deterred by Martin Johnson retiring, but we will strive onwards to retain the World Cup

Oh those Aussies know nothing lol

We as good tough English people have waiting in the wings the next batch of young talent awaiting the chance of Glory in France 2007.

I doubt that!

Wilko's no good behind bad forwards and by 2007 there will be no old school piggy's left. You'd want to hope the young blokes can step up to the bench mark left by Johnson. I can't see it happening. That set of World Cup fowards was very special... a once in 50 years pack.

So long MJ. Job well done. England will never find a lock with a better mono brow!

Remains to be seen, nice to see the Aussie fraternity already stating their doubts over the Poms

Lawrence Dallagio named as captain ( on a one off match basis) ((return of the prodigal son?)

More important news - Deano sacked as Tigers Coach! who's to follow that?
