I'm with MG - I would rather pay more than have to figure out what tip is appropriate. Then, if service was extremely good, I could always add a little something. (Maybe this is how tipping got started in the first place?) And if service is extremely bad, I could always do what I do best - write a polite letter to the company letting them know my experience at their establishment.

Can't speak for the US but in the UK Anglicans at least charge a fee for performing a wedding, not a lot (£20-£50). Humanists celibrants on the other hand will sometimes charge a fee or sometimes ask for a donation to a Humanist association, again of the order of £50. I would not dream of tipping the clergy but I would invite them to any reception or party.

Yes mothergoose they sure do tip in Italy. When you so out to eat anywhere you pay servizio which is the tip already added on your bill for you. THEN you pay coperto which is the cover charge to actualy sit on the restaurant chair and enjoy the water and the view, THEN you are required to give a bit of change to the waiters themselves.
