Not being well versed in comic book trivia, I thought I might find an answer to a question here. How can you tell if a comic book is a first, second, or third printing? If it does not specify inside the front cover that it is a second or third printing, can you assume it is a first printing? Thanks for any response.

and it's not one that I can completely answer
even having collected comic books for quite some time

the best way to figure this out is to get a Wizard
that is a magazine that lists every comic out there

with books that I know very well
I can tell right away what the print is

just because it does not say, you should not assume a first print

this is a toughie because there really is no way of knowing
unless you are familiar with the material or it says so
which is why Wizard is so handy

Not completely sure, but you might check the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide, the ultimate reference guide for comic books. I know the book gives market values for various printings as well as special editions (ie different printing processes for the cover art, etc). so it should give info on how to tell one printing from another.
