While we are ranting about Rob M. here, let's not forget his forgettable "girl" Amber. In the last episode, Amber specifically said that when they were picking new buffs, all she hoped was that she would pick the same color as Rob. Amber has not changed one bit since "The Australian Outback". She always has to pick one other castaway to latch on to and has no clue how to think for herself. In The Outback that person was Jerri. Remember how utterly lost she looked after Jerri was voted out? A Survivor forum that I belonged to at the time called her "Lamber" for good reason. And now she has to have Rob with her, she just can't function without him, and heaven forbid that she would have to do something on her own! That said, Amber's poor game playing hasn't changed at all. I'm seriously wondering why on EARTH she was chosen to do "All-Stars", besides the fact that she's pretty. I hope I didn't offend any Amber fans here!

I'm with you AG. Women like Amber set the rest of us back to the days when "men were men" (argh, that's even hard to type). That's probably why she was picked, eye candy. Although I'm not rooting for them to win, thank heaven for Alicia and Cathy.

When Boston Rob told Lex that he will help him later on in the game if he takes care of Amber, I think that was pure garbage. I hope sensible people like Alicia will turn her back on her tribe and get into the Chapera alliance.
Anyway, anyone notices that Jenna is trying to get Rob's attention too? I mean, she seems to stand next to him most of the time and will be the first to hug him whenever they win.

(Once again...) Darn it! My "short nap" after dinner turned into a sleep-a-thon and I snoozed right through it---and failed to set the VCR. Did they merge? Well, any update would be appreciated as I haven't heard anything about last night's show. Not even who got sent home.

Aaaargh!!! The merge did happen, but Boston Rob has to much power. Can you believe the ego on him? "I said I would help you if I can, and now I can't.". kathy's comment about the qualities he developed on Marquesas is so true. The moment he became the alpha-male and got to big for his britches, he got booted out. Why hasn't that happened yet?
I was very disappointed in the person they voted out. I wish it had swung the other way and taken out the other person who had been voted on instead.

I just watched "The Morning Show" and got the scoop. Disgraceful! The banished one was so hurt and betrayed! If "what's his name" doesn't go off next week then there is just no justice. This is a game, and I know it's dog-eat-dog and all of that. But THAT was a blatant stab in the back. I'll explain more about the interview once everyone seems caught up.

I agree with you both, sebastiancat and gatsby722, Boston Rob has to go I hope this is cryptic enough, so as not to be a spoiler, but didn't the three way tete a tete repeat a few sentiments from an earlier episode? Now the shoe is on the other foot and that person got what he deserved.

I'm guessing you missed the episode where "the betrayed" did it to Ethan and Jerri. He stabbed, and then was so angry when it happened to him. He's a hypocrite, and deserved to be voted off.

True, Barbara, betrayals fly left and right in this game. Some more hurtful than they might be strategic, though. As per that Morning Show interview:
It seems as if, even though they were on different shows, Lex and Boston Rob became friends during the course of Survivor alumni appearances. The kind of friendship where Rob would call Lex at all hours of the night after a break-up with his girlfriend or whatever might be happening wrong in his life, etc. And it sounds like Lex was free to call Rob, too, with whatever problems or happiness he was having as well. They were buddies in "the real world". Rob used that friendship to get Lex to trust him and then purposely nailed him by doing that. Note: I didn't know anything about this "civilian" bond that they had until I watched that news show. Had Boston Rob just said "All bets are off while we're in the game" I don't think Lex would have any quibble with that but, instead, he allowed Lex to trust their "off the island" kinship and then went about throwing that to the wind. I was never above calling Lex a snake, but Boston Rob pulled a complete Judas tactic on a friend. Ultimately, this was a situation where between "playing the game" and "abusing an otherwise mostly unrelated trust" got things all ugly. That may make Boston Rob a great Survivor contestant but it makes him just a pig in real life. At least that's my opinion...
The game is now over and Lex and Rob have had the opportunity to meet since. Needless to say, they are no longer "friends".

Lex and Ethan are also friends in the "real world," and have been so for longer than Lex and Rob have even known each other. They've visited each other's families, etc.
I still maintain that Lex is a hypocrite - even more so if he hasn't been able to forgive Rob.

I hope Rupert wins immunity next week. Boston Rob will be sure to have Rupert ousted as soon as he can. I don't think he is too worried about Tom and will use Tom for as long as he can. Hopefully, Cathy will be smart enough to get the woman together and bounce Amber, then Rob as soon as they have the opportunity.

My final words on this week's mess: there is a vast difference between being "game show acquaintances" and "friends". Ethan appeared to be bested and, as always, took that in stride. Lex appeared to be genuinely hurt. I can't compare the two.

I agree, you can't compare the two. If you're saying that Lex and Ethan are merely "game show aquaintances" because you haven't read or heard about thier friendship, I can't fight that.
Ethan understands the true meaning of friendship, Lex uses it to his advantage whenever he can...whether it's making a deal, or getting the sympathy of viewers.

It has to be Lex that is going Copago. Also sounds like Rob goes too. Only two sleeps and I watch it. I feel like Sherlock Holmes here. Hope Rupert does not get voted off. We get it Tuesday nights Copago, so is Perth at the same spot you are. Jerri went last week.

I don't really like either Lex or Rob, so I can't have any sympathy for either of them. It's true that Lex was screwed over due to "friendship", but he did the same to Ethan! So too bad, I'm not shedding any tears for you, Lex. And Rob is just a plain jerk. I have absolutely nothing good to say about him, as you realize if you read one of my earlier posts here. When he saw that Amber was safe, he said, "Lex didn't really think I was serious, did he?" and laughed. But I do seem to remember when he didn't know if Amber would be safe or not, him saying, "Hopefully Lex will come through. If he's smart, he will." So again, I have nothing good to say about him. The people on the show need to get smart quickly and get rid of him and his little girlfriend. By the way, nice to have you back, Barbara! We missed you!

I enjoyed seeing Lex go, but could not believe how indignant he was, especially as he had done the same thing to Ethan and Jerri. I would like to see Boston Rob go next, but judging by the preview, I think Amber will be next to go. Why did Chi-ann vote for Lex, we never saw any film footage of how that came about.

Hypocrite Lex is! Arrg, didn't like him first time around didn't like him this time either. And Kathy too - when she goes on about the 'being brought into the core of hatred' that (can't think of her name - the one that got touched up by Hatch) was when she was upset by a totally valid reason and then kathy goes off about game tactics. Boston Rob is the one you love to hate though - I really think it would get a little boring without him as arrogant as he is. And come on - wouldn't it be great to see his reaction if Amber goes first rahter than visa versa??

Well double drat. They let my 2nd favorite person go, despite the machinations made. I was for sure the others would see the light and try to break up the power couple, but instead got rid of the instigator. I can't help but hoping that Rob doesn't win immunity just once and will get voted off. It would make the playing field that much more interesting. Did you catch Lex's scathing look at Rob? And Shii-Ann's incredulous face at Rob's penchant for pompasity? It's been a very interesting game thus far.

I didn't watch the tape yet but caught the last 15 minutes or so last night and, yes, I noticed Lex's expression. It's a good thing he wasn't armed ! And I think you're absolutely right, sebastiancat, the one time he loses immunity I am sure he is outta there, meaning Rob. I just watched the one whose torch went out on The Morning Show (thank goodness for that show as I'd never get the whole scheme of things ) but the person said that "Going in I knew Rob and he made it safe for me to trust him. Going out I don't think he has a place in my world anymore." If he does make it to a point where he gets to stand in front of this building jury, he'd better duck. None of those left over ever got this far in their respective islands in the past---it should be most interesting to see how they play it out (and, ooops, by saying that I gave away last night's exiled one...).

Does anyone know what happens to those that are voted out? I know they can't return to their families until the taping is over. Do they get to chat? I could see the two members of the present jury making sure Rob doesn't get voted for if he is one of the final two. Which would want to make me almost take Rob to the end. he's screwed over so many people, that those with hurt feelings wouldn't vote for him. Or perhaps the fact he did so well in backstabbing would make him the ultimate survivor, but at what cost?
