If you're as hopeless as I am at remembering Birthdays, Anniversaries etc there's no doubt many programs that will help you out, but I just thought I'd highlight one I've been using for a year or so now.

Date Reminder reminds you of an approaching date (or dates) every time the computer starts up. Once the reminder is acknowledged, it then closes down completely until the next time the computer is started. It therefore doesn't run constantly in the background taking up memory or resources. It only takes notice of the day and the month so, even though the year doesn't update in the program, you still get a reminder of a particular date annually.

It's good being able to surprise everyone by knowing when a birthday is due (completely 'out of character' for me!)

It can be downloaded from here

What incredible timing! Just today I was trying to set-up my Yahoo! Calendar to remember birthdays, but gave up after a short effort, being completely put-off by all those numerous settings and buttons.

This is just what I need, the best part being that it doesn't hog system resources; just recently I had to resort to HijackThis to get rid of a tonne of spyware and adware from my computer that had been slowing it down significantly.

This little program looks like it's going to be very useful.
