Suddenly this thing called searchbar as appeared on my computer screan, right above the start bar. It is not on my internet browser, it's always there! I tried to delete it, but it won't let me because it is running. It's always running. What do I do? I think it is a result of my little sister trying to discover the internet today when she staye home sick. Ugh. I hate stupid programs like this. How can I make it disappear forever? Help me you computer geniuses, please!

What is it called?
Some are easy to delete, some much harder. Right click on the icon in the task bar (if there is one) and there might be a pointer there to uninstall or do a search on google with the name of the bar and "uninstall" and you hopefully will find a page there.

It was actually called searchbar by whenusearch. The right clicking did nothing, but I finally figured it out. By doing control alt delete I was able to shut down that program. From there I was able to go to "My Computer" to program files and delete it.

It seems to be totally gone. Thanks for all the info. I read the information about how it gets on your computer and it said you have to download something to get it there. I rarely download stuff and didn't yesterday.

For things like this, I usually find that if you can't find anything, the program Ad-Aware usually is helpful in finding these sorts of 'malicious' (or annoying) programs.

Ad-Aware didn't cut it on this one. I love that program though.
