What film starring Jude Law features the song My Funny Valentine by Chet Baker?

What romantic ingredient was used in the building of the new M6 roll road?

Where in NY was Cary Grant supposed to meet Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember?

Who was allegedly responsible for the murder of 7 members of Bugs Moran's gang on Valentines Day 1929?

According to the song, what is the greatest love of all?

What's Rodin's famous romantic art contribution?

Which ancient roman feast is the tradition of St Vals Day linked to?

In which American state is the city of Loveland?

Who said 'where there's love there's life'

I will do anything for love - sang Meatloaf. 'but I won't do that'. What was it he wouldn't do?

Please help with these and i will be your friend for life.

Thank you

I could look them up and give you the answer, or you could go to Google, put in a few key words, and have all the answers in about five minutes!

Barbara, this forum is for us to assist, or to attempt to assist members in finding an answer. Yes, we could just post a notice at the top saying "Don't bother to ask, use Google" but we don't.

No one is asking you to assist, but there are many members who DO like to look things up for others.

I knew the answer to one of these without an appeal to St Google, doomed, so let me show off. Pulped copies of trashy Mills & Boon romantic novels were recycled and used in making the road.

I don't know if you'll be able to link to the BBC if your computer has trouble with search engines, but the story is here:

At the Empire State Building.

"I would do anything for love,I'll never lie to you and thats a fact. But I'll never forget the way you feel right now- Oh no - no way - And I would do anything for love,Oh I would do anything for love,I would do anything for love,But I wont do that, "

You beat me to the Empire State Building answer, makebeleaffan! By a milisecond. I'm getting slow in my dotage.
Edited to change Al Capone to the Empire State Building.

Learning to love yourself

Which ancient roman feast is the tradition of St Vals Day linked to

Holiday of Valentine's Day probably derives its origins from the ancient Roman feast of Lupercalia

<sigh> You're starting to sound like someone's mother - no matter what I do it's wrong, and you're going to make sure my hand is slapped in the most public way possible.

I never said that nobody else could assist, but that won't make and difference. I'm labeled as "the bad child" and I guess I'll have to live with it. <shrug>

This particular forum is called I Need an Answer, to suggest to people that they use Google defeats the object. As I said, if you don't want to assist no one is asking you to, but some of us enjoy it. I really am not sure why you posted the comment about using Google, why not just ignore the post and the whole of this particular forum if you feel people ought not use it for its intended purpose?

As for sounding like someone's mother, yes I am the mother to a couple of adult children but I am also a moderator and administrator of this site so I am doing my (voluntary) job.

Barbarastl, you are coming off as a bit aloof of us (<shrug> <sigh>). Half of the name of this site is Fun; try to relax and join in the spirit of it all.
We are friends here and enjoy the banter. You are welcome. Just don't talk down to us, but join in the same spirit of comaraderie and you will be fine. I'm sure that you have a lot to offer and by cruising the various forums you will get a feeling for the tenor of this site and what you can expect from, literally, a world-wide perspective.
I'm in my fifth year here and never had a better time with so many people.

What romantic ingredient was used in the building of the new M6 roll road?
Engineers used 2,500,000 old Mills and Boon books in the building of the new M6 toll road. Unsold copies of the books were shredded into a paste and added to a mixture of asphalt and Tarmac. It's intended to help prevent the road surface from splitting after heavy use, says the Daily Telegraph.

The construction company who laid the road, Tarmac Central, used 92,000 books per mile for a 16-mile stretch and said it should ensure the motorway remained free of roadworks. Richard Beal, project manager, said Mills and Boon novels were used because millions are returned to the factory each year unsold.

He said: "There is the old saying that the road to true love doesn't run smoothly but thanks to thousands of Mills and Boon romance novels we hope that the M6 toll will."

This may be too general a phrase to be attributed to one person. It could also be backward: "where there's life there's love."
Sounds biblical to me.
