Hi I am new to this board, but would lke to say I have 10 Tattoos, and I am proud of them all. I get them done for my own pleasure not for what other people might think. I personally think they make a statement about you as a person. I have them where I can cover them if I want to or display them depending on how I feel.

I am like you MeatLoafFan... I get them because I enjoy getting them, I don't want to sound like a masochist, but I actually kind of like the way it feels. I also find them very attractive on men (I think it has something to do with the whole bad boy image). I think to each his own... if you like them and want to get one - do it, if not - then don't.

I have five and they are in places that are easily covered up by my clothes. When I wear pants and a shirt or tank top, none of them are visible.

My first tattoo was when I was 18, I got a unicorn on my right hip, just because I love unicorns.

My second is a Japanese symbol in the middle of my lower back. It is supposed to say wisdom but I don't read or speak Japanese, so who knows!

Tattoo #3 is the name of a family member who died very, very, very young and a group of cousins, including myself all got his name on us.

Tattoo #4 is a toe ring on my left foot.

And tattoo #5 is a Three Libras symbol on the base of my neck just below collar level. This one is my favorite (probably because it is new, I just got it a week ago today). I got this one because I am a libra and my lucky # is 3.

My and my hubby are thinking of eternising (is thats a word) out love with a tattoo not anything like, each others names because thats tacky and well, should anything bad happen ... but with a tattoo of two roses I'll have a black rose with a white rose entwined around it, he will have a white rose with a black rose entwined around it. I think thats sweet. I'm also getting my tongue peirced as I've wanted that for ages, and my hubby has his labret done. Partly because he wanted it partly because of reasons probably considered inappropiate for this site. lol

Oh just to let you know I've always wanted a tattoo and body peircing etc. as has my lovey man. It's not just purely as a commitment, if you get me
