Billybob - what a great advertisement for having one. (there isn't a smiley for "Ouch!")

Fjohn - I suppose you could always hook the underwear to the ring if the elastic snaps

I have 3 piercings in each ear and want more, have had my nose pierced in the past, am thinking of getting my tongue pierced... and in the past I've had my navel pierced. It seriously doesn't hurt - but it's one of the worst piercing in the world to heal because it's constantly being irritated by clothing etc... I had mine in for about 9 months but in the end I took it out and gave up on it and I'm normally quite patient letting things heal properly but I just couldn't get it right.

The other thing is if you don't have a straight belly button (apparently few of us do) the piercing will be at a slight angle!

If you go for it - get a ring rather than a banana bar because the rings let air circulate a bit better and heal easier apparently, don't fiddle with it and try to wear low waisted trousers that aren't going to catch it.

I want my eyebrow done but can't because of work

omg i could no way in the world do that! It would stop me talking to much

My stud (and my daughters)is fine so far ..(i did catch it the other day "ouch"!)i was informed when i had it done it can take upto 12 months to heal completeley but that is very rare, it usually heals before that time period, and when i had it done they told me i have to go back and get a check up after 4 weeks , to see how it's doing , i was also given a special kind of soap to clean it with twice a day.

I do have the "bananna bar" type stud i have to keep it in for 3 months .after that i can change it , i cant wait there is some really pretty belly jewellry in the shops

(luckily i have the figure to wear those hipster trousers and cropped t-shirts )

Do you have any Tattoos Fay? ..........i'l love one but i wont even go there lol.

Never found a design yet I truly truly want - if I do then I'll get a tattoo done.

I have one piercing besides my ears. I've always wanted to pierce my belly button, but I'm waiting a bit. I want to lose some weight before I get that done.

With my current piercing, clothing didn't bother me much. It didn't really hurt all that much either. The thing that bothered me was changing it for the first time. It didn't hurt, it just felt kind of weird.

I guess after childbirth, pain takes on a whole new meaning.

I got my second tattoo after my daughter was born, it didn't hurt nearly as much as the first.

I've had a belly ring for 3 years, and while it was a rather disgusting feeling while getting it, I have not had any trouble since. If your skin is not overly sensitive, good cleansing habits should forestall any infection...just DON'T snag the stupid things, very unpleasant.

I've often heard people talk about having a belly button ring but I didn't know belly buttons could ring. Mrs TW's doesn't make a peep.

Just out of curiosity, what happens when someone has a navel piercing and gets pregnant? My innie became an outtie for both pregnancies, but popped back in after both births. Wouldn't the holes stretch and become larger, like pierced ear holes do from prolonged wearing of heavy earrings? Or, would everything go back to normal?

I dont really no much about it, but when my daughter was waiting to have hers done a lady came in and asked for a "pregnacy" ring, appartently from what i overheard, there is a special ring to wear during pregnancy, from around 6 months pregnant onwards.

Oh my! Do they have seasonal decorations for the belly button, too? Maybe a wreath to stick in there at Christmas or a little rabbit at Easter? . Just kidding, but it still sounds painful to me...
