I'd just like to say, I hope the person who hacked into FT last night, and deleted several hundred posts, is feeling proud of what they've done.

So much hard work, wiped out within minutes.

Thanks to Terry for tracking down the person responsible. We won't see the deleted posts again, which is heartbreaking, considering the time it took to build up such a large variety of topics on the chatboards and AFT, only to see them all vanish like that.

Once again, thanks, Terry; your work is truly appreciated.

Mark.

I'm quite new here but finding it good fun, and interesting! Very unfortunate that some of the threads have vanished

It was in the chat boards linked with Quizzyland and is just senseless what this person has done.

(psst, Cryan, 459 posts? Quite new? Nahhhhh, old timer now )

That's what happens if you end up in the Chain Games, right?

It really is astonishing that someone goes through so much trouble just to spoil other people's fun! Nice to see that at least she was stupid enough to leave behind a trace. Good job, Terry!

Just to say how well all the staff worked behind the scenes last night. I was beavering away between threads, PMs and instant messenger for 2 hours along with all the other staff who were around, and it was a real team effort, just like in Star Trek.
We saw something odd, wondered how it had happened, followed the clues, used our individual expertises, and finally drew the situation to a successful conclusion. Everyone did their bit, and I won't name any names but one in particular deserves special thanks. And of course a big 'well done' for Terry who sewed up the whole operation. It looks like anyone who tries this in future won't be able to get very far.

I'm P O'd because me and a few wrestling buds were excitedly counting the days until the Deadman returns. Now we have to start over...if we can

Yeah, I thought about that last night, Lisa. I'm really sorry that you guys have to start all over again.

It's a shame that people have to try and ruin things for everyone. It's childish, selfish and most of all illegal. I certainly hope that amusement that was had is wort the consequences.

Edited to say, the administrators did a fantastic job in catching the individual. I'd like to thank them for their hard work in taking care of things. The folks who run this site are among the best on the net. They show so much dedication and it's all voluntary. The time that they put into this site is amazing. They're a great bunch of people. Thanks for being as wonderful as you are guys, we all appreciate what you do even if we don't always say so.

The entire contents of several of the Chat Boards were deleted, as were lots of questions on AFT. You can read it in Terry's post on AFT. Thank goodness the hacker was caught!

Her name was Ally_McKally. She had a sister who was also a member of funtrivia. She had many different names though: *Ally*, Ally_11, Ally_12, Ally_ with a small 11 after the underscore.

I agree with you. Some people are so immature to think that they can actually get away with doing something like that. Disgusting

Oops, sorry, it was all in Terry's post on AFT, including IP number and all, but the post has since been removed. I didn't mean to leave you hanging, but didn't want to literally copy the entire story either. What live5trivia said was right, it was a multiple personality member called Ally in all different forms.

Leau - any information about spammers or hackers is useful - Most of it will not mean anything to the the majority of members (EG me) but I have an expert (plus a city council IT department for which he works) on hand to check things out!
