I think someone in my family has been messing with our computer. I am having major pop up problems. Everytime I install yahoo companion pop up blocker it works until I leave the internet. When I come back on, it's gone. I reinstall it, and it picks up right where it left off. I also have this lovely program called Golden Palace Casino on my computer I can't figure out how to delete. When I go into Program Files, it tells me I'm unauthorized to delete this. Erg! I go onto the 11 year olds part of the computer (I have XP), and she had over 20 pop up ads on her screen, plus 3 new programs downloaded she claims she nerver heard of. I'm pretty sure most of my problems are originating from there. I believe she didn't dl the programs she never heard of, but she does download games when I tell her not to. She also eats and it's ruining the key board. My latest problem is huge font in Internet Explorer, despite my font settings being unchanged. Sorry to ramble about so much, but any help is appreciated!

Because you're using Windows XP you have to have administrator rights to be able to deinstall programs. You can check this by going to the Control Panel and then to Users. If your account doesn't have administrator rights, try logging in as a user who does and see if you can delete the Casino now. If you're still having problems, maybe this helps. I haven't tried it myself, so no guarantees...

Here's the email from the company
Dear Customer,

When you sign-up with different websites and download various programs from the Internet, it is possible you may also be downloading other programs or applications at the same time as part of their installation bundle.

Our company is affiliated with many different websites and it is possible you may have received our software in one of their bundles. All of our affiliates require their customers to agree to their Terms and Conditions before downloading any of their products and any software included with their products.

If you download software from the Internet, we highly recommend that you fully read all Terms and Conditions and/or licensing agreements before installing anything.

Removing our software from your computer is a simple process. However, you can only do so after it has been completely downloaded to your computer. The full download is just over 60 megabytes.

Removing the Software

There are three ways of removing the software, try each one in order. If the first doesn't work, try the second; if the second is not successful, try the third.

1. Click the following link for instruction on how to remove the software: http://remove.monsterserve.com/remove/toolbar/index.html

2. Go to http://www.jraun.com and click the uninstall download at the bottom.

3. In some cases, you may also have to remove the software from your computer index directory. This is easy if you follow these steps:

1. Double click the My Computericon on your desktop to open it.

2. Double click the Local Disk (C)icon to open it.

3. Find the folder named Casinothen right-click ONCE on it this will open a drop-down menu.

4. Hold down the SHIFT Key and click DELETE in the drop-down menu simultaneously.

5. Be sure to wait for the final Delete message - you must click YES, then the software will be deleted from your index directory.

Keep in mind that our software is not spy-ware, and removing our software will not remove any spy-ware that may have been installed on your computer. We recommend that you download an application called "Ad-Aware" from
http://www.lavasoftusa.com and run in periodically to remove annoying spy-ware from your computer.

Should you need contact us for further assistance with the removal of the software, our toll free number is 1-888-217-5648.

Thanks Leau. That's one problem solved. Also, my pop up blocker seems to be working. Now I just need to figure out how to shrink my font back.

If you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, try holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling the wheel. That works for my computer.

Go to the View menu. Under Text Size, select Medium. That ought to do the trick.

Much better Harish. Now tell me, did funtrivia change its look, or is that just my computer too? It's all gray and beige now.

That would be your own FT settings - go to My Home - Main Configuration - Display preferences and there's a bit in that page about style settings, flick through those until you get your old one back. (i hope)

I noticed the same thing when I'd deleted my cookies. The default color if you're not logged in seems to have changed, so has the color if you've chosen "always default" in your display preferences.

I have the Forums on my Favourites and have to log in every time I come here, mine is grey and orange too, until I log in when it goes to normal. And I haven't fiddled with the preferences either!

I noticed sports was already a different colour a few weeks ago, and last week I clicked in and out of forums and the blues had been changed to the grey and orange, and the whole format seems different as well, though without comparing the two face to face, I can't be sure.
I liked the old one, but I like this one as well, and it reminds me of the old colours before the blues were installed.
I just checked, the grey and orange are the new default colours, the blues is still there as before, but has to be selected now.

You are not going mad, Linda changed the default colour scheme last week, it is no longer blue. Once you log in it will revert to your personal choice if you have one seleted.

Well, that's good to know Sue. I thought for sure my husband had played a joke on me and changed my default color. He kept denying it, so I guess I owe him an apology.
