The MX700 mouse will probably just work when you plug it into the new computer. Windows will give it a driver. If the Windows driver works OK it probably wouldn't hurt just to leave it at that. However, if you want to download the latest Logitech driver for the mouse it can be downloaded
from here (just select your mouse). This will save you wondering if the Mouseware 8.40 disk is the right one to use.
Just as an aside: I have a Kensington optical mouse. It worked as soon as it was plugged in but I installed the Kensington driver anyway. The mouse behaved erratically with the software and I ultimately uninstalled it and went back to using the Windows XP supplied driver. The mouse then worked perfectly again.
Conclusion: Windows mouse drivers are good.
