Fried Snickers, that's a new one! My arteries start to clog just thinking about fried candy bars...
The strangest food I've eaten? Chicken testicles and pig kidneys stuffed with peppercorn. Both thanks to my dear grandmother. When you grow up in Asia you do get exposed to some interesting delicacies.
I'm willing to give just about everything a try except brains and insects. Must draw the line somewhere!

Fried mars bars and any number of other chocolate bars seem to be popular in GLasgow, Scotland. They're available in all fish and chip shops there. Never dared try one.

My interest is piqued - how exactly does one fry a candy bar? Is it battered and seasoned? How does all the chocolate and gooey stuff stay together in the deep fryer?
*trying to picture what one would look like*

Visit the Minnesota State Fair- all things fried and on a stick! We have deep-fried candy bars too, but I have never wanted to try one. I think they batter them and then fry them like a pronto pup.

My sister used to go to a chip shop in Farnborough. You could take in any chocolate bar and they deep fry it for you for about 20p. Never really fancied it myself.

Eh. The idea of fried candy bars still doesn't sound right. Not knocking those who like them or anything. But I've always thought candy bar taste the best when they're cold, especially frozen mini Snickers. Mmmm.

I've tried some of the previously mentioned items such as alligator, snake and frog's legs, but I think the weirdest thing I eat is scrapple. For those who aren't familiar....take all the leftover parts of the pig, grind it up and mix with, I believe, corn meal. It's compressed into a loaf, sliced and fried. Its origins are German/Pennsylvania Dutch. I have yet to convince one person who hasn't grown up eating it to even give it a try. I however think its delish. A friend from Scotland says it sounds a bit like Haggis. We have this running challange going...one day we'll cook up the two and do a comparison...but I don't think either of us has the guts(pun intended) to go through with it.

Bear is repulsive; too wild tasting for me. Rattlesnake and squirrel are just too weird, even if I liked the taste. Venison stew and chili is very very good, if the meat is treated with vinegar first to remove the wild flavor, and simmered slowly for hours.

I once ate deep fried alligator. That was an excellent choice as I thought it was quite tasty. I've only ever seen it offered in one restaurant so with that said, it's the only time i've ever had the option to try.
I also like Ostrich burgers. A local restaurant makes them on a french bun and it's just great.
Also, the worst food I can say I have tried is "heart of palm". This just has a strange taste to me, and i can quite honestly say that i gagged the minute i put it in my mouth. LOL.

I think the strangest food I've eaten is escargot. I know it's a delicacy in France and Canada, but since I live in the US, I've only had it once. Wasn't too bad, though.

Barbequed prawn heads are delicious but nowhere near as strange as sausages and ice-cream.

I love escargot. With plenty of garlic mayonnaise on some warm bread, it's delicious.

Having travelled a bit and being somewhat adventurous, I have eaten some strange things. However, I can't think of anything really weird except "green grass jelly drink" and only because it was so revolting. We had this in Brunei and I can honestly say it is the worst thing I have ever put in my mouth on purpose.
I have had escargot in a restaurant where I used to work. They served it in a garlic butter sauce and it was very good. And speaking of garlic, another strange thing I ate once was garlic icecream at the Gilroy Garlic festival in California. Sounds revolting but it was actually very nice.
