On the Ajax theme, if the cat or dog does a whoopsie on the carpet, don't be tempted to use toilet cleaner, turns the carpet white. Stick with washing up liquid.

You really should not try to wash a feather pillow in the washer (and then put it in the dryer). Man! I've never seen so many feathers flying about - even on the actual birds themselves!

Tried reverse psychology on a 12 year old- "Fine, don't clean your room!" "Fine, I won't!" She didn't, until she couldn't find her sketch pad and I refused to help.

Make double sure that you remember where you've hidden the eggs on Easter. Draw a map if necessary.

A $5 Merlot. Don't do it.
I knew better. Really. I did. Bought it anyway.

From the Things Not To Do With Duct Tape web page. Quote:
Ran out of butcher's string last christmas. Used duct tape to secure legs, wings, neck cavity on 25lbs. turkey. Haven't seen hide nor hair of relatives since... On the bright side, this includes my inlaws..........
Things NOT to do with Duct tape: Do NOT use the scraps you tore off incorrectly(with the sticky side up) from the duct tape wheele and scruched up, as a ball for your cat to play with...kitty has a bald patch where he got the tape stuck to his fur. ................. Never use duct tape as the blindfold for your kids Pin the Tail on the Donkey game. Unless of course your child and his friends are`nt fond of their eyebrows and don`t mind pain. Strange seeing a whole 3rd grade class of kids without eyebrows. Kind of reminds me of some distant colony off of Star Trek......... Do NOT use duct tape to remove hair from the more sensitive areas of your nether region................Don't ever duct tape your students to their chairs with the stuff, it makes for a sticky situation.............. duct tape is not a good hair remover. especially for the eyebrows and mustaches of men or women...............Even though it works! Don't use Duck Tape to secure your circular saw on the end of a pole to cut down those high tree limbs.................The new clear duct tape will not make oneself invisible if applied to naked Body...............Do not make a hat with duck tape ................ When you cut two or more pieces of duct tape for a job. DO NOT under any circumstances put the extra piece on your lip till you need it. It removes skin easily. I personally tested this out..............It's a bad idea to use duct tape to fix a hole in your underpants........... Do not not use duct tape to curl your hair!!..........NEVER attempt to unwrap a fish that has been wrapped in duct tape..........Does your wife snore at night?? Don't do it, I now walk with a limp!..........

Good ones, 'roos. I expecially liked the tip "Don't use Duck Tape to secure your circular saw on the end of a pole to cut down those high tree limbs..." Now you tell me! Found out that there is a Duck brand of duct tape and they have an annual festival: http://www.ducktape.com/ And I thought that I was bored. I'm going to change my 'tag' line.

Fjohn I wouldn`t change your tag so quickly, at least not a major change perhaps just one letter! According to the site you posted the answer would indeed be duck tape. "There is a day in all of our lives when we come to realize that we are part of something larger than ourselves, something that binds our world together, gives our lives purpose and continues to work as a positive force in our lives.
That something is Duck Tape" Just reading that line brings joy to my heart. Another thing that brought joy to my heart is the joke mentioned on a couple of web pages regarding the catching of ducks with duck tape, I`m not brave enough to post it though.

Sue, Duck (which is also a trade mark for a range of adhesive goods sold in the UK) and Duct tape (I think that's the US version) is known in the trade as Gaffer Tape (It's used in the Theatre to stick down wires that trail over the floor so no one trips up on them) it's used because it doesn't have a strong glue so it can be easily removed. Can I suggest you try Plaster of Paris (Anyone who's broken a bone knows as it shrinks it pulls every hair out Knitting Pin/needle anyone?)

I'd have to say DIY. I've tried it many times, and it doesn't work.

I think I read/heard somewhere that power drills in the US carry a warning about using them for dentistry. Ouch!
