May I make a suggestion?

I've been away a while, and I'm amazed that this first page of this forum is almost comppletely taken up by 'stickies', those posts permanently pinned to the top of the page. I'm certain they all comtain valuable, necessary info---but could they possibly be combined into two or three general-purpose posts? I'd think finding nearly a page full iwould be kind of daunting for newbies. (And it cuts down on my at-a-glance check of new topics, too.)

I'm a bit confused, I'm afraid. There are only 6 stickies in this forum - this doesn't really constitute "this first page of this forum is almost comppletely taken up by 'stickies'" nor is it a "nearly a page full" [sic]. The stickies listed are all separate and don't really take up that much room. And, combining them wouldn't serve the purpose that we're attempting to serve. For instance, I can't see how putting the thread about Gunslinger would really make sense in the Guidelines thread. They've nothing to do with each other. Maybe you're seeing more on your page than I am?

Can I also add that the newest of those 6 stickied threads has been there about six months, that is not exactly recent.

Well, maybe we aren't both seeing the same thing. My 'Page 1' contains ten tiems, of which the first six are stickies.

I didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers---just offering my humble opinion.

Yes, Sue, it's been about six months---I had major surgery and have been otherwise engaged for a while. (*grin*)

Ah! You need to increase the number of posts you see on a page. Go back to the default setting (I think it's 50, if I'm not mistaken). It sounds like your settings got off somehow.

[Editing to add: I just checked, and the default is, indeed, 50. Go to your "My Home" and then to "Display Preferences" - you can make the correction there.]

It can also have something to do with the resolution of your screen. When I'm at my parents I have to scroll down much further than when I'm using my own pc.
