Following Sue's recent advice to start new threads rather than add to old ones after a year or two, I found this on the archives and it isn't even here to add to in the current site, so here goes.

The expanded version I'll add is 'Have you met any FT members, or if not, would you like to?'

My own answer is there are no members I wouldn't like to meet, if we get on on screen, my bet is most of us will get on reality, and possibly have a lot to say (as proved already in the new chat room!).
Personally, the closest I have got is a few phone calls with a member from the States, though if I ever get a chance I will be glad to meet anyone whose path may cross mine, either here or where they live.

(nb, the last thread got about 5 pages of replies, let's see how we can do )

Yes this will be a charming little thread to see for the next couple of months. I had arranged to meet exit10 in Alice Springs whilst there on my pre-wedding honeymoon but things didn`t work out as planned,at my end. I still feel guilty about that!

I've actually met 7 FT members in the flesh and enjoyed meeting all of them. There are several I'd love to visit with a special one who hasn't posted recently called ConorCopago)

It was a great delight for me to travel to Canada and see Purple Fan . I had a wonderful fun-filled fortnight. Then I have been to Jersey twice to visit Sue,again, a simply terrific adventure, both times. While I was there the second time we went to meet the lovely Telliewellies, Mr and Mrs, who were taking their holidays there. Lastly, Sypher was on his way through Hong Kong, on his way back from Oz and we did a lightning tour of the sights.

As far as I know I haven't met anyone from the FT boards. Don't know if anyone lives near me.

As you can see from Ren's post, it's not even necessary that they live nearby!

I've never met anyone from FT either, although I was close to meeting Dobrov when I was in Prague two years ago. If the flood had been just a tad worse, I'd have called her for help in figuring out how to get home.

Treble (I too don't even have a passport (and before any smart alec decides to post NO we don't need one to move around Leicester! !) but if you or Jane Marple would like to drop me an e-mail or PM then perhaps it could be arranged to meet up for a social drink and chat.

I might even be able to introduce you to other FT members in your area (with their permission, of course)

John

Salut Quebec,

I'm touched to hear that. At least you'd see that I'm normally laughing most of the time instead of being as serious as I am around here. I can warn you this too though, my French has a touch of the Midi in it, I am not a Parisian.

Now then, I think, let me see, I've only met LadyMacbeth in person when I was still across the pond. We had a fun lunch together after she found me.
I've spoken to several people here too on the phone.

I guess that I am content to at least have the written personalities of many people here as it's not too likely I'll meet many of you in the flesh.

Well, since I'm a new member in this forum I never got the chance to meeting any other user. I don't even know most of you!! But I hope that this situation will change shortly.

Oddly enough, I have met Shel. She is just too kind for words! I am hoping to meet up with her again very soon. We do spend far too much time talking about quizzes, though!

I met Bruyere when I was visiting a friend in France...

As for who I'd like to meet? Anyone (as long as you don't hate me)! I almost met Cellar once, but we weren't going to be free at the same time.

You look like a nice person and I guess I would like to meet you too, Ladymacb29. Even if I didn't like you much at first, when my quizzes kept being rejected by you!

Yeah, you're right, Fosse4, I was being a bit vague . For your information, I live in Spain, so we at least share "continent".
