Most websites go for Kind Of Blue, but if you want another contender try Birth of the Cool, which a few go for.

1- Just skimmed a copy of How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the only 2 main possibilities I could not see in the book were the Mayor and Martha May Whovier and I don't believe Whovier was in the cartoon so I would go with the Mayor.
