Just going on 2 am here, and I have been off work for an hour. Tonight went better than it has been for a while. (Fixed my problem with a problem employee ) I'm in such a good mood I hate to waste it sleeping, so I will be up for a while Your perfect love IS out there, satguru, all it takes is a little patience. Don't give up. I'd just about given up before I found mine.

Hello all! It's my daily 3am post. LoL I've been up doing house work! Really! Do you know what I found? (besides the fact I actually have a bedroom!) I found some black and white negatives. They are from my old brownie camera and are over thirty years old! Also, there are a couple that my grandmother took around the same time frame of my sisters and I at the beach. Plus there is one a bit earlier that I believe my parents took of two of my sisters and I in front of a christmas tree! I do remember finding this at one point long ago but had forgetton them! The great thing is they are in good shape and I will get them printed! I'm not sure of the quality of the exposure but there is not a stratch on the negatives! Now, that was worth cleaning my room for! They were in a vanilla envelope in a small file drawer! I've moved around so much and let go of so many momentos that it's amazing there are here! Babymoo, I'm glead you had a good day! My work day was much better too. Anything would be better than last Monday, that is for sure! Hope we both have great days tomorrow too! Well, by the time I've finished this, it's become my 4 am post! HA Good night all and good morning! Hehehee There is a reason this thread is called that! Joy P.S. I agree with Sue. This international trivia site such as ours isn't a place for a single forum. It's a nice idea that we meet a lot of great people here. But the complications would be great. Plus the distance people are would make it difficult. But I can understand why you'd like it here. I'm finally understanding that finding love is a timing thing. And obviously not my timing. LoL

It was a good day! I decided it was time to have a backbone in that situation, and it made matters better. There is a fine line between being the manager and being a buddy to the employees, but sometimes you have to widen that line. I got my point across, and now the rest of the crew respects me more for it. They know I am very laid back and easy going, but when I have to, I will be strict.
Going on 6 am, guess I will have to get to sleep sooner or later. Glad to hear you had a good work day too.

Hello again everyone! I had an extremely tiring day yesterday, whoowhee. I had to wake up early for a presentation, which was unbearably long, and then had a nine hour ride back home, yawn. Then I went to sleep for ten more hours and woke up now feeling the same as I did yesterday. But now I'm home

Hello everyone and good evening! Babymoo, glad you got that situation worked out. You sound like you're doing a good job as a manager.:) Theoryman, you had to go 9 hours for a meeting? Wow! I hope you've been able to get more rest. I have a new boss. I have been on this job just over three months. I was dissappointed. I got along well with her and was disappointed. But the new manager has just finished her training and she will be just as good. Whew! I don't like change! Hope everyone's weekend went well. Since I don't go in until 3:15 pm I count Monday morning as part of my weekend! hehehe So mines not over yet! (not rubbing it in or anything. )

Hey everyone, no, I didn't go 9 hours just to do the presentation, I was up in Fairbanks for 10 days altogether. On the last day, I did the presentation. I was able to get more rest thankfully. How were all of your days?

I'm getting the hang of it more and more all the time. Glad to hear the new manager is going to work out, Joy. I'm supposed to be at my niece's softball game, but stayed home instead. Bad aunt Moo, bad! I had to have a minor surgery this morning to finish up fixing my finger from when I broke it, and am still tired from the sedative they gave me. They didn't knock me out completely, but it was enough that I am still feeling a bit sleepy from it. So, I figured I would check out a few things here and then take a nap.

Not a bad time here tonight really. I switched on to find all the trivia forums had been returned (I used to live there, I panicked when they were gone for a couple of days!) but as usual I wasn't patient enough as they were just being sorted to go back in the new forum (which many will remember as a very old forum indeed, from before my time here as well). I am relieved Otherwise, my business is gradually growing, I have quite a few evening appointments this week and have a good balance of returning and new clients at last. Painting pictures, performing on TV and counselling are the 3 things I'd do for fun that I could get paid for, and at the moment it's just the counselling (I didn't try and sell my few pictures, they're on the walls here) and my TV career has yet to begin . I also (surprise surprise) write magazine articles occasionally which I also enjoy, and can do from home (luxury!) but haven't been offered money for doing them yet, though the fact anyone wants to include what I say (mainly counselling related) in their magazine is payment enough.

It's been a pretty dull week...There isn't much to say about it. My computer got some adware while I was in Fairbanks, and my non-computer-knowledged family was here. So I haven't been on FT at all... Oh well, I'm back now! Hope all of you are doing ok. Hey satguru, you should ask someone to make a site for you advertising your writing skills or something like that. You'd probably get asked to do it more often... ~theoryman14

This week was better than last. Thank goodness! I will be at work in just over an hour. I am debating on whether to go 'jump' in the pool at this late time (before work!) of day! LoL
Should I or shouldn't I??

It was a good buzy day at work. The new night manager and I get along well. We worked out a potential problem. She had been bringing her children over to my room at about 5pm. I usually was working alone until 6pm and I liked it that way. It was my time with the kids (after supper we combine and are all in one room). I talked with her and we will only do this early combining on Thursdays when she has scheduling to do. That is a relief! Oh, and by the way, I did go swimming today! For six minutes! I kid you not, I got in the cold coooold water rather quickly. Then debated for 20 seconds whether to get my almost dry (just washed!) hair wet! But it's not swimming if you don't get in all the way! And I did a couple of free-style laps. Felt really good even if I didn't have time to swim much! Good night all. And pleasant dreams!

Glad to hear you decided to go swimming after all. My nieces and I got into their pool one night and the water was COLD - we sat there freezing for about 15 minutes and then decided to head inside for some hot cocoa! It's good that you were able to work things out with the night manager.

Well, just got back from my more or less annual school reunion (the one I liked, but was only there for 2 years, which is all the better to go back again to catch up more). Last year there were a few people from when I was there, no close friends, but at least I got to know some others I didn't know well a bit better instead. This year there were still maybe 100 people, though half on the list didn't come (was it really just the rain?). Amazingly, most were over 50, a few were younger than me, but there were only 3 people who were there the same time as me, two who were there last year as well and one even I couldn't remember (which is quite unusual) but was very nice anyway. But it was a bit of a let-down after the last one, I've been going to virtually all since the first in 1986, and a few others were poorly attended, but at least the school makes the effort. Other than that, my primary school had a reunion I didn't know about maybe 10 years ago, as I'd just moved from the original address, followed by a 50th anniversary 2 years ago which I did get to, but only saw a few people there I knew. It was good to see it all after 33 years though and filmed the whole thing. But none of the others appear to have them, unless they made sure I didn't find out! (I was a bit of a liability in those days ).

It's a good night one here (as usual in my case). The high of the day is I'm picking up some big dumbells now in the gym, and can now do situps on the metal cradle thingy without it hurting, so I can carry on almost indefinitely. As my stomach area is the least fit of all, this will help focus on it, and eventually may even remove all the padding that's been stuck there for years.
Also (thanks to another member here) I've started a weblog at last after he showed me where to get the site from (I've been trying for ages to find one) so I'll be posting similar ones to these there regularly as well. It's linked from my usual site which is under my profile here (but it will probably be very familiar to all of you already having read this lot first!).

Ah, your friend introduced you to blogs, did he? Blogs are good. I mainly just use web hosting...
My day has been fairly boring, not much going on...oh well, gives me time to read and learn new things.
Hope you all are doing well, bye!

Good eveing all! I've had such a stressful, busy week. I wasn't big on reflection on it all! LoL I have a new little two year old in my class. Well, he'll be three in a couple of months. He is a handful and a half! He runs out of the room (got to keep that door shut!), jumps on the couch, has a nano-second attention span, ummm normal for kids but is giving me a run for my money! It's hard to stay right next to him when I need to get art projects going or other activities. I was kind of down about this boy because it's just plain harder to do my job. But, after chatting with a friend about him, I realized I don't have put such stress on myself. I'm going to have things ready for him to do. He likes art, so I'm going to plan some art just for him. On the playground I'm going to stick to him like glue and keep him safe (from going down head first on the slide, hanging almost upside down on the swing, etc) He's going to make me a better teacher, knowing I have to keep a close eye on him while attending to the other children as well. I finally realized I didn't have to focus on what is going bad but rather find positive ways to work with him. AND hey, it's the weekend! And I have plans! I'm going to watch fireworks with a friend and hopefully go to a parade! Happy Birthday AmericaHope everyone has a great weekend! Joy

Well it's the end of another day here in Kingsbury, and for a change a healing and therapy centre has opened near me, and they said they'd try and get me work there. It's run by two sisters, one who does the therapy herself, and she's also extremely psychic and has told me of her life's experiences being aware of the spirit world, auras (which she reads as part of her therapy) and seeing the future regularly.
Work or not, it's fascinating to meet two people who have so much different experience between them, and they're also giving me very helpful advice on my currently cursed love life. As they have the internet there I may well be introducing them to funtrivia in the future so they could be joining in as well.
Otherwise quite a busy week ahead one way or another so updates as they come.

Hello satguru, theoryman14, Jane, Moo and all!
It is late and I really really really really should be asleep! Geeeeeeee when have I said that before??! So much on my mind, it's hard to write about it all. Especially when I just push it all away from the front of my mind! Trying to set up classes for fall. I should have done this already but I had to pay an outstanding bill.
But a nice thing happened today. A man stopped at a stop-sign beside me, got my attention and told me I had a low tire. He didn't have to do this and it really impacted my mood. Left me realizing that there are wonderful people and kindness all around us if only we look. And made me realize how little kindnesses are so important and can really have an impact on our world!
So, I'm going to pass his kindness on. Look for where and how I can do it!
Good night all!
Joy

I know what you mean about needing to be in bed. IF I had any sense at all I would be in bed at 4:40 am instead of being here on the computer. It was a long, rough day and I need the time to unwind. Since I have the day off work I can sleep as late as I want.
Very sweet of that man to let you know about your tire. I like reminders such as that about there still being kind people in the world.

It's amazing how few of those kind of people are left. We're a dying breed . It's been pretty boring up here in Alaska. I've got some good news though, I just saved a bunch of mony on my car insurance by switching to Geico! Just Kidding. A really close friend of mine who just happens to be female is coming up July 24th, I haven't seen her for a while...wish me luck! bye! theoryman14

Good luck Theoryman! I don't think kind people are a dying breed at all. I think there are more kind people than we know. We just have to keep our eyes open and we'll find them! This week is going fast. I am really enjoying work. The new night coorinator is turning out to be a good friend, I think. We laugh and joke with each other. She is having a baby in September and I can't wait to see this baby! I stopped by for a quick hello. . Everyone have a wonderful day! Joy
