Hello Joy, good to see you back, and I'm glad you've revived the thread, which I'll add my high to.
One task I have is that of debriefing UFO witnesses, especially those who believe they've been abducted. Today I had by far the most fluent and complete recall while under hypnosis, which included (which I always try and do) a contact with the actual aliens via my subject. I was given a full description of why they are here, their plans, and how the government have contracted to keep their presence quiet until they choose to reveal themselves in 2012. Of course, without corroboration, this is half a picture, but it's going back to the official source (my main researcher) where it may, with luck, now reach the media for full scrutiny. Watch this space!

Jane, Gatsby, ClaraSue, Minkpenny, and Satguru ~Thank you all for the welcome!
Today my group finished our science lesson. We each (four of us) taught one lesson each day. I had taught the food pyramid on Monday. I was soooo nervous and felt I wasn't as prepared as my co-student teachers. But the teacher said to me today not to be so nervous, that I had done fine. That made me feel better. We video-taped our lessons and have to edit it done to 4 minutes for a review for our classroom discussion. I am also directing a play and just in the middle of getting that going. PLUS this week I am helping with the costuming of a show at school, so I will be busy every night for a week and a half--plus my student play is being presented the day after the show is over. ughghghghghggggghhh!
But I am sure it'll all get done!
Have a super day everyone! Joy

The battery carriage got broken on Mrs TW's motorised wheelchair. The local company we go to when such calamities happen is run by a man called Peter Norfolk. This is the man who won a Gold Medal in tennis at the Paralympic Games in Athens earlier this year. I got to talk to him about this and he eventually got his medal out to show me. I can now say that I have held an Olympic Gold Medal ...not quite the same as winning one but a rare experience maybe. Read about Peter Norfolk

I am trying to work out if that is a bit of a high and a low, the breaking of the battery carriage being the low.
Great to hold the gold medal, wow.

I want to join in! I'm having bad night. I'm trying to memorise a presentation that I have to do in my German lecture tomorrow morning, I have 5 days left to write a 2000 word essay that I haven't started yet... and the phone isn't working!! My boyfriend just tried to phone me 3 times and the phone didn't ring. That means NTL will have to come back for the 6th time... The high point of my day is that my boyfriend and I have been together 10 months today ~*Bee*~

beee,
How'd you do with your presentation? (I'm sure just fine!) And how did the essay go? I have a bunch of stuff (three papers, analysis of my play reheareals, take home test and a social studies lesson/unit) to do yet and I know how that pressure is!

I'm mad. I'm mad at God really (He can take a crack at me later...). My great friend's husband went to the ER last night. He remains in the hospital. His cancer is not stopping. What a horrible time of year for such things to happen. And I can't get to Illinois and I am scared for him (and them all). So I am peed off. I never write here with any good news. Sorry about that...

I think I will join in here for a change.
The high of my day today is just one of those simple things. My two boys usually don't get along, but today they had a really great time playing together (for over 2 hours no less), and it has just lifted me and given me hope that one day they will realise how much they mean to each other.
The high of my week has been confirming a new friendship. He knows who he is. It's made this particular christmas season memorable already.

No one should be as ill as your friend Gatsby and this is the very worse time to be ill. Thinking of you and your friend and his family

Gatsby, I so agree with you. Be peed of at God!! I get that way and of course I feel that way about your friend's fight not going the right way. I wish I had words of comfort to say that would help. Nothing but his wellness would help and I don't have that. I get so angry at God for life in this manner as well. I know that doesn't help you but what I am saying is you are not alone in your anger.
I do believe in prayer and that seems so weak in this struggle as it is going. But I will pray for him. And for you too because you are my friend.
your friend, Joy

Sort of trite, and I know I aughtn't complain, but my daily low today was getting short-changed. OK mistakes happen, and certainly I was distracted at the time, but should have spotted the error and pointed it out to the assistant. My problem, however, is that when I got home and discovered the mistake (less than an hour later) I phoned the store immediately, and the assistant was extremely rude to me. Her attitude was "Well I'm sure I've not made a mistake, and as it's cash there's not much you can do about it". I find that extremely rude, and it makes me feel angry. Not only am I down €10, but have had to tolerate her bad manners. It was up to me to point out to her that she could at least see if her cash balance is 'over' at the end of the day and call me back if so. I do not expect to hear from her, but I won't be purchasing in her store again.

Santana,
It's not trite to complain when things weren't handled in a human way. That woman was rude to you on top of not doing her job. And I don't mean the mistake she made. I mean it's her job to listen to you, the customer and to work towards a solution. You are right that you shouldn't have had to tell her she could check for the balance being over. In fact, she could have counted her draw right then and there if she'd had access to getting a total (and a manager would have had that...if it's a store the manager wasn't there...she probably couldn't of done that but that could have been thought of and you could have been told when a manager would be in and able to do that.)
If this is her store, certainly don't go back there. But is there management above her? You could at least write a note, if not speaking to them directly (might be easier) and let them know how this was sooooo wrong.
People's rudeness affects us more than they ever know. I'm sorry that this happened during this holiday (and stressful!) time.
Hope you have a better day! (I'm not very joyful right now myself, but I'm going to sign my pen name here in hopes it brings more hopeful outlook...)
Joy

Highlight of the day: My grandma, who is 94 and a couple of weeks ago suffered from rheumatism for the first time in her life, managed to walk up the stairs on her own again! It´s so good to see her recover. Also it is really sweet to see her speak English with my sister´s boyfriend, who is Australian. (For those of you who don´t know, I am German, and Grandma hasn´t spoken any English for at least 30 years, so it is pretty amazing she can still remember it so well)

I just woke up, it's 9:00 am here, and I feel very refreshed, I haven't had a good nights rest for a very long time, and it's nice to finally have one.
Don't have much else to say, I've got a date tonight, so I hope that goes well!
Catch you guys later!

Low point of my morning: Getting a negative and hurtful reaction from the bus driver! grrrrrrr
High point: hearing my science teacher I can have more time for my assignment that I can't do right now!
Hi Jane and Satguru! Daniel, have a great date!
I'm glad we can come here and share! Joy

Oh, and Gatsby, I'm really sorry to hear that your friend is still struggling. In time, hopefully, something will happen that will change his situation, until then, both you and he will be in my prayers.

Well, the high has to be recorded in this post as it will turn over on my profile very shortly. This is my 1000th post as satguru, and marks a point just under two months short of my 5th anniversary here. The day after I got my computer given to me so I could carry on much of my book-keeping work from home instead of the little garden office where I worked I typed in 'trivia' into a search engine to add to my lifelong list of interesting facts, and of course Funtrivia was the first site on the list. Having never registered for a site before and not realising any name I chose would be stuck with, I joined AOL as spit the dog, who was a famous glove puppet on TV, who I also saw on stage, and very funny. Of course the name had gone, and the AOL system asked if I wanted to add my name to it. The trouble was, the disk was registered to Peter, who was the friend who I worked for and set the computer up for me, and I was named Peterspitthedog by AOL. Because it was a temporary free trial I couldn't be bothered to think of a new one, but registered the name here. I'd saved up a pile of questions I couldn't discover at the library, and within 10 days had answered all but one of them thanks to help from both long disappeared members, and long-timers such as Linda and Gtho4. Then I have to admit I found a supernatural forum and seemed to forget about here for a while. About a year later I came back and instead of changing my name in the existing account I registered a second time (no memory why) and here I am. So technically this is just over the 1000 for me, but not for my satguru incarnation. And the second high spot is my aim to still be here after the next 5 years, and as long as Funtrivia is here in the future. I've made, and even met many new friends since I started, as well as piling up heaps of new information, plus had a chance to share my views on anything and everything, and also give people the chance to put me straight when I'm talking rubbish . So if my 1000th post isn't a chance to praise Funtrivia I don't know what is!

Congrats, satguru, on the milestones . And FunTrivia is like having Disneyland on your desk, isn't it? I'm always shocked at how many posts I have - but I figure 90% of them are due to my obsession with the Chains ...
I said earlier that I never have any good news to share here but today I do! First of all, THANK YOU all for the well wishes re: my friend. The positive collective energy worked . He'll be home from the hospital by Christmas, I'm told. I am really glad about that - he'll get to share a regular Christmas morning (his grandson's first one) with his family. He is in no way "out of the woods" here but at least there will be happiness, if only for the time being. I suppose, when it gets right down to it, a glimmer of happiness and hope is much more vital than a truckload of sadness. Both have notable impact, but the former is better, eh? I sometimes get so bogged down in the latter, which is just too easy [and ultimately useless] to do. I also got my two, and only, gifts so far this year today. Perfect ones they were! A Betty Boop 2005 calendar (almost half a century old and she still makes me giggle like a kid ) and a James Taylor CD. JT is my hero. If there was any bad thing it was this sudden onslaught of snow - but even that turned out OK. I went out and actually played in it for a while and didn't care if the neighbors thought I was nuts. And I didn't fall down doing so! That is a rather startling accomplishment for me lately. I've made my list and checked it twice; seems to me it's OK for an adult to be child-like when possible. That's all to say - except good to see Daniel back & I hope Joy gets to feeling better. You all that post here dazzle me and I hope everyone has a grand time of their holiday. However one chooses to spend it!
Be well!,
Gats

Oh Gats, I'm absolutely thrilled for your friend, I know you said, not out of the woods yet, but were there's hope, prayers, good thoughts zinging across cyber space - it all helps! I too am not all that well, but finally found out today what has been 'bugging' me for the past three months, some sort of hepatic viral infection! Such a relief to know that I wasn't imagining it (like my boss thinks) and after some more tests, hopefully, a cure! Thanks to you especially Gats for making this year in fun trivia a challenging one, Chain Buddy! And to all, everything works out in the end, you just need patience, a virtue I gratefully hold in volumes! To each and all a happy silly season and, I firmly believe, things can only be better in 2005!
