Two comments:
1. Glad to see mailbox link is prominently displayed for beginning players now.

2. I agree with Linda, Fosse, Leau and others: The link to the Forums should be more prominent, perhaps located at the top of the page (where it now says "Introduction - New Player - Quiz Directory - [Log Out]" and perhaps in bold letters.

As AFT is also part of the Community, maybe the link to it could be in the same section as Forums. This would also have the advantage of making this section bigger and more noticable. Maybe some sort of notice about, or link to, the chat boards, would also fit in here. As it is, they are quite well hidden now, and a new member wouldn't even know that we have them.

The quiz categories (center column, about a third down the page) seem a little insignificant. It might make them stand out more if there were a border around them (from just above the "Quiz Search" window to just below "Browse Full Quiz Directory"), and that enclosed area were a different background color.

better?

Im really trying to keep things as condensed and as terse as possible, while making what's important still very accessible.

That's an improvement. I'm undecided on extending that background color to also include the link for "Browse Full Quiz Directory."

Hmm I think it does make sense to, since it's logically grouped. Lemee change it and see.

Yes, I do like that. The wording "Browse Full Quiz Directory" is a good explanation of those category titles.

Im going to condense the "full directory list" too. The problem of summarizing 7000 categories concisely isnt an easy one

Terry, there are numbers appearing near the rating of the quiz.

Eg - (15)easy. I can say it is not the amount of times played as they differ when I check. Could you tell me what they are?

This is the message I got when trying to play the quizzes. When I logged out and then back in I still got the same thing.
Like some of the changes but not all of them. I guess there has to be a few glitches to make sure you can catch them so they don't show up again.
I will try playing the quizzes later in the day.

I just came home from a long weekend and want to say the new Homepage is fantastic. It is so much more convenient to have everything on one page, and it looks neat and organized. Great job, Terry. The new hourly quiz is a wonderful addition, however, I only got 8/10. Perhaps a third quiz on the quarterhour...

glad you liked McG.

I also added a nifty thing to AFT... it now displays the last questions a player posts to the board at the top. This way posters can find responses to their questions easily.

Yes, I saw that as well. I often have people ask what happened to the question they posted yesterday, usually because it has rotated further back
than they expected, so this will make it much easier to track.

I love the News part! Wonderful!

There seems to be a glitch in the new easier hourly game... When I look at the scores of the last hour I see

You scored 5 questions correctly in 49 seconds, for 451 points.
The average player scored 6.8 questions correctly in 72 seconds for 604 points.
You ranked # 51 of 63 players.

But when I look at the list that is displayed underneath that it says I rank # 8, which seems to be the correct rank btw. I did get points on the cumulative thingie, so perhaps the text is using a different algorithm...?

I noticed the same thing, Leau. I believe the score shown at the top is from the more difficult 'Smartest Player' quiz. I keep track of my scores from both, and this is what was happening with mine for several hours yesterday.

Hi--

There's only one thing I miss from the old Member's page. It used to tell you how many quizzes you have online, offline, and waiting to be edited. Could you bring that back?

Thanks,
Robyn

In the "Gold Member Options" menu, one of the choices is "Detailed Statistics." The list of "Your Quizzes" just repeats the list sorted by rank (which is very useful). Could you replace the Gold Member only list with the list sorted alphabetically (like you used to offer). I occasionally found that useful too.

Cancel that last request to also sort quizzes alphabetically. Just noticed you already had that as a toggle on "List/Edit my Quizzes "

Terry, Could you tell me where the 'Quiz Authors: Most Created' and 'Most Popular Authors' link are? I can't see them on the homepage. The homepage looks neat!

In the "most popular quizzes" section, could they be sorted by ranking, even for us non-gold members, please?

Anyhow, Terry, I see your vacation did you lots of good, and the results are evident in the redesigned web page. VERY nice work, and many thanks.
