Back to the Sophie switch. I think the problem is that they take a baby and we see that baby getting older and older, they have acting forced upon them literally from being days old. Some will take to it but most will grow out of it, find that they really don't wish to make a career out of it. Sophie has now reached the age when children who are attending stage school and wish to become actors could play her part and I think this is what happens time and time again, once they get older a new person who actually WANTS to do it steps in and takes over the role. I am fairly sure that isn't the original Rosie either.
I must admit to being quite impressed with little Bethany this week, she got her lines correct and sounded authentic. It will be interesting to see what they do with her when she gets older, after all said and done, 'she' is played by a set of identical twins.
Ah, I have just checked and Rosie changed at the age of 9 and this is the
3rd Sophie as she changed in 1997 when she was 7 years old. David Platt changed over at the age of 10 and Nicky Tilsley changed (for the better) at the age of 15. We had three young Tracy Barlows over the years, now this adult one.
If you have never checked the Corrie website I can recommend it,
just click here but be prepared for spoilers as it normally gives the plots for the coming week
