Mrs TW and I have this desire to go to live music every now and then. Last week we went to see The Animals. This week it was 'Magic' the Queen tribute band. Two weeks time is 'Talon' a tribute band for The Eagles. It really is very good music. The group last night looked nothing like Queen but My Goodness! they sounded like them.

The trouble is they all make the same mistake (in my opinion). As the show goes on, they turn the volume up to painful levels. I have started taking ear plugs out with me. I just about avoided using them last night but I did use them for The Animals show.

I suppose the situation isn't helped by the fact that we are always put in a prime position in the front row (having a disabled partner has some benefits). Of course, this is right in front of the speakers. The hall isn't particularly big though and I'm sure others must get the dubious benefit of full blast sound.

Maybe I should get Mrs TW and myself some of those very obvious yellow ear defenders. Perhaps that might convey a message to the musicians that louder isn't necessarily better.
