I just spent the past year loading up on great stuff from the 20's to the 50's
I could be a swing DJ now! yeah, swing dancing is great!
and I'm so looking forward to Camp Hollywood this year
it's gonna be fantastic!

does anyone else like this music?

I'm not quite sure what music you mean - I'm a big fan of jazz and big band vocals from the era, and some of it is swing. Cole Porter and Ira Gershwin are my heros, when it comes to lyrics. I'm not a dancer, so the instrumentals don't get me as much.

The Great American Songbook
covers everything from the roaring 20s to the swing age of the 30s and 40s
and the great vocalists of the 50s and 60s

so, lots to cover there...all the big bands Dorsey, Miller, Goodman, Basie, etc.
then the vocalists like Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.

I just got this great rendition of 'Flying Home'
it's on the 'Memphis Belle Soundtrack'

I'm always on the lookout for current bands that can recreate that old sound

Mora's Modern Rhythmists
and the Campus Five are two great LA bands that do a fantastic job
of doing that big band sound and a small combo feel respectively

and I've always wondered why music this good is now so unpopular.
I guess the recording bans of the 40s and then the advent of rock in the 60s
pretty much did it in

and you should really try swing dancing...it's a blast!
I go out maybe four or five times a week to dance
great music, great dancing and you meet great people

I had a bookstore for a while, and used to play mostly classical music, or jazz vocalists - Billie Holliday and Dinah Washington. The response from the customers was very positive - "this music is great, who is this?". Considering I was in a very small town in Northern Alberta, I was a little surprised, but pleased. People don't know the music, but when they get a chance to hear it, they like it.
I consider it a public service to roll down my windows in the summer and play Bessie Smith on the car stereo, nice and loud.

So what are your thoughts on Michael Buble? I've seen him in concert and he is very personable and seems genuinely happy that you're there to see him.

I guess it'll be interesting to see where he goes once he starts producing his own music instead of covering standards.
