Only four weeks until we get it...probably take another four weeks to read it!

Even I'm starting to worry abou the spoilers being posted here and there on net. About Harry Potter, spoilers are something like we want to have a look at them and then erase our memories and let the mystery unfold the Rowling way. But, I wouldn't mind browsing in the last of the pages to find out who, if anyone, is dying.

I hate spoilers too, being careful what I read....but I will just have to look at the last few pages when I finally get the new book, to see if I should prepare for a death!

I am sure our members will be told NOT to discuss the plot here when the new book comes out. It is a very thoughtless person who will give away the plot knowing that most people are yet to read or finish the book.

In fact I would go as far as to say that such a person might well find themselves as an ex-member of the forums. To deliberately ruin the pleasure of other members isn't something we will condone.

I will certainly be posting a warning about spoilers shortly before "HP and the Half Blood Prince" is published.

For the time being, I don't see any objection to speculation about the possible contents, or discussion based on Ms Rowling's website. But once the book is published, I would ask everyone to hold off for a time and give people a chance to read it without having their enjoyment spoiled by posts that give the story away. Remember, not everyone will be able to pick the book up at midnight from their local bookshop and sit up all night reading it. Many FT members have busy lives and won't have a chance to read the book for some time after it's published.

That's absolutely right that most of us, no matter how big the fans we are, wouldn't get the book at 00:01 16 July, 2005. Even if I get it, I don't think I'd be able to finish it before 5 weeks. But, on the other hand, what else would be there to discuss if not Book 6 in the forums?
So, perhaps, we should be allowed to talk about the things of the beginning, the trivial things of those pre-Hogwarts days may be. Even the book jacket gives us something beforehand, doesn't it? So, there must be something going on in here to maintain our interests.

You can say you enjoyed it, that in your opinion it is the best so far, not as good as the others and so forth, just nothing about the plot.

Well no offence TT , but I shall be staying out of here till I have read it. I don't want to risk what happened last time.

Well I am estimating four weeks to read it throughly, in my own time. And shall be avoiding the book area until I have finished it...as well as any Harry Potter sites! But even after I've read it, I won't spoil it for others....even go so far as taking the thread off my favourites so I don't get unexpected spoilers!

I didn't have anything else to do when book 5 was released so I read it all the same day. I won't do that this time unless it's so good I can't put it down. But if I read too fast I feel disappointed when it's over and feel like I should have drawn it out more.

Now that's a problem......Hehehe.

But, it's amazing to see how hugely we are anticipating the book. I wonder if any other book has ever suffered such hype before its release. Mugglenet.com is actually hosting a huge mid-night release party and are expecting thousands and thousands of fans from all around the globe.

C'mon guys. I hope the book hasn't leaked out to all of you that you're busy enjoying it and not posting anything in here!

Fat chance, no one will be getting it before 16th July. Shops will be opening at midnight to meet the demand. I see they are already slashing the price of it as they did with the last one. Typically I am seeing it offered at £10.99. Anyone seen it for less?

Edited to add that having just seached on Google I see in the righthand panel prices as low as £5.69. Wow!

I am very excited about Book 6.
It took me five hours to read book 5, but I stupidly double booked myself for the Saturday evening this time so it may take me a couple of days to read book 6.

Quick question to get your opinion:
Is "Half-blood Prince" referring to:
a) the prince of the half-bloods?
b) a prince who is half-blood?
c) both?

Oh well, well. It really never occured to me that the HBP could actually be the prince of the Half-Bloods, as in your first option, Bookworm. I always thought the other way, in fact I don't fancy many would have done.

Even the last option is pretty interesting. Most obvious, perhaps. Half-bloods wouldn't choose a 'mudblood' or a true wizard as their leader, if they ever have to.

But, I'll choose the first option:-D, simply because the book would've been HB King, if "HE" had to be their leader.

I think it could be either way...but I dont know why the Half Bloods as a group would need a leader. But I also don't see how it could be referring to an actual prince....I mean it could...but would it be so outragious that hes a half blood, that it makes it his title?? So I cant wait until 12 o'clock on the 16th....so I will know for sure!!

I'm very curious as to what will happen to Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle. Will they still be allowed at Hogwarts now that their fathers are revealed as Death Eaters?
I know that they were revealed at the end of 'Goblet', but not many believed Harry then. Now that everyone's finally accepting of the story, and Lucius has killed again, will the rules be changed?

JKR has left many Unfinished stories at the end of OOTP, like that of Fudge, or the OWL results, and, as usual, the new DADA tearcher. Thank God she didn't announce this time that someone's going to die, as she did for the last two books. We have all possibilities at hand now. Most of the time I expect something dramatical happening to the Trio's OWL results. Just think what'd happen if Hermione FAILS! O, this is killing me.

Is anyone else going to stay up until midnight to get it? I found out when the 5th book came out that it's cheaper at Wal-Mart, and the lines are much shorter.

Amazon.com has promised to have my copy delivered via UPS on Saturday afternoon. I hope they didn't lie to me. I'm going to spend my whole day on the front porch.....I can't wait.

I will be waiting outside the doors for Costco to open on the 16th. I find it's cheaper there.

Like Beaker, amazon.com says they'll have mine to me on the 16th or it's free. So far the books have completely earned the excitement surrounding them!

I still say that there is something unusual about Professor Dumbledore, and his brother who we don't know much about...I am interested to see how that develops
