Several people have offered to be a quizmaster for Trivia Rounds so I would like to use this thread to work out the June Roster.

I will take the 1st of June (Thursday) game and every Thursday game after that. I will also take one other weekday unless we get a lot of volunteers.

You will have to think of five questions and also have about an hour free the next day for checking the answers.

Because of our different time zones some games might end up overlapping, aew round can start before the previous round is finished. This isn't too much of a concern so long as you stick to your nominated day. It would probably be best if Australians quizmasters could post in the late afternoons or evenings as there are 15 hours ahead of Americans.

One member did suggest that we hold games every two days so that it is fairer for members that can't come to Fintrivia every day. However, as now as quizmasters will be missing being a contestant in some games I think that should even things out a bit more.

So if you want to be a quizmaster just nominate a first choice of a day (and a second choice if you want to).

I will do one again this coming Saturday. But I can't commit further than that. If that helps at all... .

What about giving contestants 48hrs to enter their answers? That would make it fairer for the players and would give the quizmasters a little extra time to research answers too.

I think that most of us have already said that the scores really aren't that important. It's just a bit of fun after all.

I'm flexible about which day I take, but how about I nominate Monday and/or Wednesday for myself? Does that suit with others?

If we have a different person 'hosting' the game each day it should still be possible to allow 48hrs response time. That would mean that on any one day there would be possibly two sets of game questions open - the current days and the previous days (where time zones overlap). I don't see any reason not to have it that way?

Another alternative is as suggested in the original thread. Members could volunteer to host the game for a complete week just occasionally. That way no one would be tied to a commitment for the same day every week.

Five sets of 5 questions per game could be entered on a Monday and the answers to all would have to be in by the following Friday (let's say, for example, midnight FT time) giving the whole weekend to collate all the answers. If players prefer to send answers on a daily basis they still could, but others would be given the extra time they need.

I'm not sure exactly how you intend to work out the final scores for all the separate games Kuu, but the advantage of this method would be that only one person would be working out the final weekly winner of each round. No quiz host would be dependant on another for the scores of the previous days before a final tally could be made.

Just a thought.

Having a 48 hour turn around sounds good, though, with two sets of 'live' questions, and ample time for each quiz master to research/verify/collate scores.

Looks like most of the days have been taken now, but I'd be happy to stand in when people are unavailable for any reason. Any day of the week would be fine, though Saturdays and Sundays would be preferable.

Any days suit me except next weekend 11 - 12 July!

The top scorer/s of each round will receive a point each. The person with the most points at the end of the month is the monthly winner. I will post a running total of points at the end of each week.

The reason I thought that we would do it this way instead of having one person running it each week is that it is hard to come up with 25 questions at once and also not everyone is free each day of the week.

Kuu, I can take tomorrow or next Friday. (I MIGHT be able to do Wednesday, if you prefer.)

You can have tomorrow Friday as it will give me a couple of days to look for new questions as my list is getting a little low.

Next Thursday is fine...I might have to put on the questions last thing on Wednesday night English time though

Being in the US, would the best time for me to post my questions be tonight around midnight my time (just before I go to bed)? That way it'll be early morning in Europe when the go online?

I could do a second one on Tuesday if you like. That would mean posting them at the same time as I posted Sunday's results, on the 48 hour turnaround, which would work for me. I have enough questions 'in the bank' to do a couple of rounds for the next few weeks anyway.

I'm planning to post Thursday's questions around eleven pm English time on Wednesday night. I don't know what time that makes it in America etc

11pm English time would be about 5:00pm my time, which is right now, and I can't post them now. If I posted them around midnight, it'd be 6:00am there. I can post them sooner than that, though. I'll get them up sometime between now and then.

You can post them anytime on your day it doesn't really matter so long as you give the Round Number. People have two days to answer so it doesn't really matter if a couple of rounds are closer than a day.

This is good because now I will have time to work on a Mystery Photos Game which I plan to run once a week.

I am mow organising the Roster for the ten days from Sunday 11th to Tuesday 20th.

Some people have Pmed the days they want but I find it easier to organise it in this thread if that is OK.

I can continue to do Sundays and Tuesdays if you like. I have enough questions jotted down for another four rounds (plus ), and those days suit me well enough.

We have commitments from spanishliz to host the game on Sunday and Tuesdays, Santana2002/Elfwinkle will share Mondays, and I will commit to Wednesdays (and Fridays if no-one else wants it)

That leaves Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays open.
