Gopa, the mama cat, has finally been caught!
Today, January 22, 2005, we had a lot of snow, and I was afraid for Gopa. I was afraid that she'd freeze to death or get severe frostbite. When she disappeared for a few hours, I was beside myself with worry.
So I shoveled out the yard and cleared off the cinderblock fence, and then got a plate of human tunafish ready and my sister went out into the yard to deliver the food. Then Gopa came wandering over and I asked my sister to set out canned cat food, and when my sister walked out into the yard, Gopa didn't run away and allowed my sister to pet her. As my sister was petting her, my sister realised it was the perfect opportunity to grab Gopa, and she did.
Gopa was brought in the house and placed down the basement in a big dog cage; she was given a litterbox and food. Gopa is not a happy camper at the moment (she's still in shock about being taken from the fence), but I know in due time she will begin to appreciate what was given to her.
I will now never have to worry and wonder if Gopa is okay outside as she is now in my house where it is warm.
Gopa is pregnant. She conceived on January 2 and 3, and her last litter of kittens, which is due anytime between March 2 and March 9, will be born in a safe place.
