Anyone else watching this? It's almost over and this one mom is a real witch with a capital B. I'm sure you know I'm talking about Tammy... anyway, she comes from a very well-off family and her husband's mother is there to help out. Well, Tammy gets in this lower-income family and she's being a royal pain about lunch. She wants the 'husband' to go out and get her a sandwich because she's not 'in the mood' to fix anything. Well, the family doens't have the money to go out and buy lunch all the time - so the husband and kids are saying all these things they can make for lunch - but she doesn't want any of it.

Geesh, even though you're the 'mom' of this family, grow up and realize that you're also a guest!

Sorry for the semi-rant, but this woman's attitude is reflecting poorly on just about anyone who has anything in common with her... And I really feel sorry for her real fmaily who are being so weet and nice towards their 'mom'.

Ok, later on in the show, the new (nice) mom is sitting down with Witch's kid putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Well, the poor kid says that his mom (the witch) wouldn't do such a thing with him!

And at the other house, Witch mom was blow drying her hair and kept setting off the circuit breaker. So does she switch to another area of the house? Nope! She makes the poor kid sit in the closet (where th ebreakers are) and keep switching it!

Edit to add: So the family that the Witch is with goes to the waterpark. And Witch mom decides she needs to keep an eye on the kdis because she thinks they've 'never had any formal swimming lessons'. Huh? I ever had formal swimming lessons (ok, I did when I was 1 year old) and I'm a great swimmer!

So what did you guys think of this show? I thought it was pretty good - but that Witch mother (Tammy) just got my blood boiling!

I watched it and found it to be entertaining enough. It was a good experiment on bringing two woman out of their elements. I was beginning to think that Tammy was a actress because I couldn't believe that any one could be that clueless. On the second show I was afraid Tammy was going to do something silly with the money like get them all memberships at a gym or buy a pool. But she came through and actually was listening to the family's problems. But the other lady was absolutely wonderful. Because the family wasn't in need of anything (they were filthy rich) she did the right thing. Nana was the glue in that family.

Ditto. I was VERY happy to see what Tammy decided to get the family. It was perfect.

And as for Nana and the Nakamura family, I would have given her the car and trip to Japan, but as that won't cover the whole $50k, would have given a little (like $1K) to each family member with something specific (like have Niko buy a bunch of jigsaw puzzles) and the rest I would have them donate to the charity of their choice (as they alreayd have so many material possessions).

So will you watch the next two families? I think there's going to be a LOT more tension in those two switches... This first one seemed to be only Tammy v. her host family.

Just finished watching the latest show, this time the dads were swapped- Georgia country farm boy for a larger than life New York lawyer. And I really felt sad for the country boy because he had to go back to a family that wouldn't even get up off the couch to welcome him home. But I'm glad he was seen as not so much a country bumpkin but an extremely nice and caring guy. And for all his larger than life personna the lawyer was pretty subdued out of his element. But the wives on both sides... ouch!!
