It seems that the system which has been under scrutiny since the presidential election of 2000 is still not fixed. Will we see a repeat during this election year ?

CWM - please be more specific with what you are talking about. What information have you found out, where did you find it, etc. so people can carry on a conversation without responding to something that you weren't really talking about.

Thanks.

Many of us do not live in the US, to make a statement such as in your opening post means very little to us, how can we comment if we are not given information, some of us won't have any idea as to what you are talking about. I am sure that you have access to Google wherever you live, it can't be that difficult to give us a source/story to read.

If I were to tell you that Senator Paul Le Claire married a Russian woman recently it would mean nothing at all to you unless I gave you a link to the story or made a really full post explaining my remark.

Edited to add that I have now read the article to which you linked, until then I had erroneously thought that you were referring to the machine which didn't punch clean holes, I now know that you didn't mean that at all.

Yes, but when I read your post, I assumed you were talking about how the machines just had a major failure and lost election informaiton form 2002. That was in the news today (msnbc.com). So unless you are more specific in what you are talking about or provide a link, there's no way to know that you were talking about *your* subject and not mine.

That's in addition to Sue's point that people all over the world can't know what you're talking about as they search a news website they'll get 30 different topics on the subject.

That's why I try and make it a habit to post the URL of the story I'm talking about when I add a topic in here. It makes it easier for people to find out exactly what you're talking to and avoids mis-understandings.
