What is the hat like? A rip off of MY hat! She obviously saw the hat that I bought in London for the FT meeting, it is the Canadian version of that. What a cheek. Proof of the pudding is that my hat (or should I say me in it) has already been uploaded to the Scrapbook. Personally I think that I look better in mine than she does in her version.

I agree, Sue, your hat is entirely appropriate as a fashion statement. I was so overwhelmed with its beauty, I had to have one
It is a bit like the Cat in the Hat hat, and has a maple leaf smack bang in the middle, very lovely.I cannot promise, but you may have the chance to admire it on the scrapbook.

I have been here for more than a week now, on holiday in New Westmister with Purple Fan and her husband. The weather has been wonderful, hot and sunny. The people , as I found last time, are most friendly and fun. I have been to see some of the most beautiful places I have ever been ( and I come from England!). I am off to UK on Tuesday, and I shall be sad to leave the friendliest and most beautiful of countries. Thanks so much, Canada.
PS If I were Canadian, I might take exception to being called " Junior American" . I am surprised it is quiet in here aboot that. But then Canadians are sooo polite!

I moved up from New Westminster in March....relocated to Penticton

Don't say I missed my Canada story? Well, as a collector, I always like to look back on what I've added throughout my life as much as the experiences themselves sometimes, so my afternoon in Canada must be one of the most impressive achievements on paper as when I just filled in a 'What countries have you visited' map, those few hours filled in the whole top half of the continent in red than if I'd been there for a year! I know other people who have done the same trip I did, it's the 'Round the river' trip from Niagara Falls (USA) to see the good view, then along the river to the next bridge and back into the USA. But I still got an impressive 'Rainbow bridge' stamp on my passport, which is far better than my trips to Europe which stopped getting stamps in around 1976 once we became EC members. So at least I'll always be able to say I have been to Canada (plus I could see it across the falls for the couple of days we were there) though it would be nice to spend a few weeks there properly as well. I have spent a total of 4 1/2 weeks in the USA though (and covered 10 states) so when we get a USA thread I'll have a lot more to contribute

I am from Southern Ontario, on the shore of Lake Erie. I have been to the East Coast and the West Coast but there sure are a lot of places in between that I want to see.

Hello from Vancouver Island.I agree as well Canada has a lot of amazing places to be and people to meet, but nothing is as beautiful as the coast.I remember my first visit here from Thunder Bay Ont.
looking across at a farm on Denman Island, the pasture was green and came right down to meet the ocean(I mention it was green because it was early March and everything else on the way here was white or brown)up and behind it you could see the snow capped mountains.I have lived here ever since.

hello fellow canadians. i am currently living in eastern ontario in the kawartha lakes area. what a country, the best there is(as the other canucks will testify). i love to visit the states and mexico.its kinda like canada's basement and rec-room. fall here in ontario is great with all the colours and leaves. just like a 'group of 7' painting.
