Can anybody tell me the name of the song and where it's from, "ooo, eee, ooo ah ah, ting, tang, walla walla bing bang"? I swear that is the worst for getting stuck in my head.

I think it's "The Witch Doctor" but don't quote me on it, I'm very unsure.

My own complaint is that I've had "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits bouncing through my head for the last three weeks.

Yep, by David Seville (Ross Bagdasarian) (also known as Dave from Alvin and the Chipmunks fame.) I think my Chipmunks album was the most-played record of my youth.

I told the witch doctor I was in love with you
I told the witch doctor you didn't love me too
And then the witch doctor, he told me what to do
He said that ....

(CHORUS)
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang...
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang
Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang
Walla walla, bing bang

I told the witch doctor you didn't love me true
I told the witch doctor you didn't love me nice
And then the witch doctor, he game me this advice
He said to ...

(CHORUS)

Now, you've been keeping love from me
Just like you were a miser
And I'll admit I wasn't very smart
So I went out and found myself
A guy that's so much wiser
And he taught me the way to win your heart

My friend the witch doctor, he taught me what to say
My friend the witch doctor, he taught me what to do
I know that you'll be mine when I say this to you
Oh, Baby ....

(CHORUS)

Sheesh, that has made my day! I came here to report that song by the Zimmers, My Generation, but now I have the Witch doctor zooming around in my head.

That irritating song that goes "had a bad day, it was a bad day... blah blah a bad day..."

It was overplayed here so much that it was incredible. Couldn't even escape it from sportscenter... they'd have a guy missing a touchdown and out of nowhere.... "had a bad day.... it was a bad day.. his dog ran away... la la la la day..."

I'd go to the gym and they had it on the radio... "had a bad day, my doctor is gay, my grilfriend won't stay, this song won't go away..."

Then when anyone left American idol... "had a bad day, such a bad day, my hair's turning grey, blah blah..."

This doesn't even begin to explain how much I hate that song.

Wow! Thanks Dragonkin and Taesma for the song The Witch Doctor. I can't wait to show my mom as she's the one who used to put that cursed song in my head.

The song that my daughter delights in getting stuck in my head at the moment is Avril Lavigne's new song, "Girlfriend", or whatever its called. You know the one....
"hey, hey, you, you, I wanna be your girlfriend"
It drives me mental.

hi again
ravel's bolero
can become insistent
on playing in my mind.
often that can be a plus
because let us say i am in a boring
resident council meeting,
i can just "turn on" bolero
in my mind and have a good time.
another way i make the day go by
as necessary is the knowledge
that way back when the word
"nice"
was used muchly,
and i had looked it up in the oed
and found a [14th century?] meaning that delighted me
namely, licentious.
substituting licentious for "nice" makes more interesting listening than before.
another work i love to listen to
and it can play a lot in my memory
are the britten's variations on a theme by henry purcell (a young person's guide to the orchestra--super introduction to this topic--recommend it most highly.

My teenager daughter bought an album by a guy called Mika and it's really hard to shake "Grace Kelly" out of your head when you've heard it played 17 times in a row.

I started off loving it but now...well now it just annoys me, especially since I've seen the video clip. I don't like things that pay out nerds me being one myself.

I've been working at a boy scout camp lately and so have a whole bunch of camp songs bouncing around in my head, such as:
"Jonny Verbek"
"The Grand Old Duke of York"
"Old Lady Leary" and
"Bazooka Bubblegum"
But mostly the ones that get stuck are the ones we are not allowed to sing anymore because National decided that they were 'inapropriate' a.k.a. 'not p.c.':
"Pink Pajamas"
"Running Bare" and
"Moutain Dew"

I get the theme song to Indiana Jones stuck in my head often and for days at a time. I really hate it when that happens.

I also get What A Day for a Daydream by Lovin' Spoonful stuck in my head, especially on bright sunny days when i'm stuck inside.
