According to http://www.narnia.com/index.htm, 2005 will herald the theatrical release of CS Lewis' "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe."

The movie is being filmed in New Zealand.

I wonder if the movie will stay true to the book or will it be different. Will Aslan be computer generated throughout the entire movie or just when it calls for Aslan to walk on two legs? Will they use the same children or woman who played Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy and Jadis from the BBC version?

Will this movie be just as popular or more popular than "The Lord of The Rings"?

What's your take on this movie?

I haven't heard much about this movie yet, but here's a link that talks about the four children who will play in the film:

I hope the movie is good and doesn't stray from the books very much. I do not think it will be as popular as "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, however. We'll find out in December 2005!

Well, I'm not sure really. There is a video out. There is also: The Silver Chair, The Dawn Treader another one, which I can't remember off the top of my head...
In these videos, Azland is rather fake. His mouth only goes up and down, and there are animated bits in.

Those are from 1988 and aired on the BBC. According to IMDB, the BBC didn't have a lot of money and therefore were not considered very good (although fans will say differently...like me).

I'm hoping that this new Aslan will look real (even if he will be computer generated...you know like the monkeys and other animals in "Jumanji."

I don't think the film will be nearly as good as "The Lord of the Rings" for so many reasons. Some are that LOTR has a wider audience, both adults and children, the books are immensley popular and the stories are timeless.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe will be an enjoyable film I expect, and especially for the children.
