My mother uses Gmail and now that it offers POP3 access I tried to set up her Outlook Express to retrieve e-mail from Gmail. I've tried the automatic configuration tool and the manual set-up, both however without success. Has anyone been able to get it to work?

I am using g-mail for about more than 3 months. At the moment I have 8 g-mail accounts and approximately all of my friends already have g-mail. If you want to get g-mail account then send me a PM along with your name and e-mail address so that I can send you invitation.

Well, Gmail is now pop3 compatible. I have it set up with Thunderbird, but have found I prefer to just read it online.
I got 46 new invites today, so I now have 50. Please post of pm me if you want one.

Recently they have been replacing mine one for one, they reduce my available invitations when I use one but within a day they give me another - very odd.

They made mine up to 50 the other day but it could be hard to get rid of them as they have now got around to contacting people (such as me) who signed up many months ago but were not successful in the initial draw for accounts, to issue an invitation.

One has to admit that gmail have been very clever with all this, by restricting invitations they made it desirable.

I had 50 , then I sent one to someone, and it was immediately replaced... I now have a glut too.

I have been considering getting a Gmail account for some time, but really didn't require the space as other email services were suitable.
Now, I would like to try this email service, and I'd be glad if anyone could send me an invite.
