Aha, I'll have to check in here more often as the northern hemisphere is obviously ahead of Down Under! I've actually only caught one episode of Survivor Vanuatu and it was the preceding one to JoniMacaroni's post . . . I'm not even sure yet who the Survivor's are . . . I'll have to pay more attention next episode, i.e., the one where two you guys referred to above get voted off!

Maybe it is because they have eighteen players this season, as opposed to sixteen. However, they still have to vote out all but one in 39 days, so the traditional schedule is "twisted" up.

I too thought this episode was interesting, although the twist was not as wonderful as the commercials made it out to be, but then, they never are! Like Sebastiancat, I was very happy with who the women voted out, but not so happy with the men. I think they're playing the game stupidly at this point, but it may turn around. As for the woman who was voted out, I have words for her, but they're not appropriate to post here! This woman gives the word "bitter" a whole new meaning. I loved what another contestant said about her: "Good luck finding a husband with that attitude." That cracked me up!

Anyone else think the person who won the individual immunity acted very intelligently? I had totally written this person off in the beginning as an idiot for some reason, but I have definitely been proven wrong.

I think the reason for this is because typically the show has been 16 contestants in 39 days. This time it's 18 contestants in 39 days, so I think they're just trying to get people out in the same time frame, which means deviating from one contestant voted out every 3 days. Last season was like this two, and if I remember correctly, there were some instances where tribal councils were held two days in a row instead of every three days like usual.

Now I feel like a big goober. How did I not catch there were 18? Now everything makes much more sense.

My $0.02 on last night's show:

Eliza, you getting upset is the same is the pot calling the kettle black. You did the same thing as Lisa and now she's the bad person and you are not?

And why!?? Why did they vote out one of my favorite persons? Why!? Oh the humanity, the horror.

Now that was a dumb thing to do ! The person voted off made the biggest error yet, in Survivor history.

The preview for next week shows someone really pushing it to be kept in their tribe. Since most of the members of the tribe are married, it should be interesting as to whether this person made another big mistake .

Just double checked, two are married, one is engaged and one is single...next week should be very interesting.

Actually, I'd have to say that the biggest error in Survivor history occured during Survivor: Africa when the Boran tribe decided to dump all but one of their big jugs of water to lighten the load as they trekked to camp, not realizing that they would be unable to start fire to boil any water and that in a dry environment like Africa, water is very very important! But the mistake in this recent episode was definitely one of the dumbest strategy mistakes ever, that's for sure!

As for the previews for next week, I'm sorry, but I'm so sick of people who think that the only way to get ahead is to take your clothes off! I could go on more about this, but it would take pages and pages!

This latest mistake WAS huge. What was that person thinking? Oh, wait, they weren't thinking. They were on thin ice to begin with---let's just take a hammer to it!!! Talk about living up to your nickname. And one of that tribe's members must have felt like the loneliest and most vulnerable human on the planet after that happened. I didn't see the previews. Yet more nudity? Great. Now I'll have to instinctively imagine how stinky naked Island people are again. Ugh .

Okay, does anyone else out there think this season of Survivor is turning out to be a little bit boring? Hardly anyone that's left is what I would call a "power player". To me, no one remaining is that remarkable. I know this sounds bad coming from me since I started this thread, but it's just how I feel.

I'm a regular viewer of the show but after a while the castaways who were voted off start to wash together. Here it says that there may be spoilers within but everyone is so careful not to mention specific names or events. -- I need a chart and a list and a calendar to try to figure out who is being referred to here! I want to contribute to this forum but am afraid to step on toes by being specific......

In the meantime, who's everyone's favorite castaway? I think mine is Ami as she's been loyal to her word and a hard worker. She's also a very shrewd player....what does everyone else think?

Okay, since I started this thread, I'll just say right now: IT'S OKAY TO SAY NAMES OF PEOPLE WHO WERE VOTED OFF!!! That's why I put "Spoilers" in the title. I was getting tired of reading stuff that was stepping around the issue as well. And when I haven't seen the episode yet, I just don't read the thread until I have. It's that simple! So everyone, go ahead and TALK about who was voted off and what happened! It's really okay!

My favorite was Lisa, but she's gone now. I also loved Brady, but he's gone too.

I've been watching (sort of) and am really lost as to what the hell those voting are aiming to achieve - it seems the power players are gone and those left couldn't organise a you-know-what in a you-know-where! I couldn't even tell you anyone's names from the show, that's how effective it's been! The scenery's nice tho'! lol!

I agree that this is the least interesting "Survivor" I've seen. I suppose the vote-out last night made some sense but I just can't cozy up to the motives. I must say that I don't/didn't like that Ami person at all (and I'm surprised I recalled her name...). Being a strong "woman force" is one thing but being a 'feminazi' is quite another. She's not playing a game! She's playing an agenda. And to hear her declare that she brought a 'good attitude' to the sport here? I wanted to hurl. Let's hope this is the last season of this. They're getting all desperate in their choices of candidates to play. Watching that one person struggle with his prosthetic in The Challenge was disturbing - not interesting. Maybe they call it "good TV" but I'm starting to think it's strictly exploitation.

(Off the soapbox now... )

SO what was the mistake up there you were all talking about?? Was it the one when the woman got voted off saving Rory from eviction?

Yeah they are pretty dull - I equate the bloke with the leg (those names ARE hard to remember!) to the dwarf in The Amazing Race - somethign different for us all to gawk at.

I thought all the guys had legs, or did I miss something ? lol! Sorry Copago couldn't help myself! By the by, how come I missed the dwarf in The Amazing Race, I must be slipping!

I think it is quite probable that these shows have run their course - but what will be next - the mind boggles!

You guys are right about Ami, she's is a "feminazi" (BTW, loved that Gatsby!) She is really starting to show her true colors -- by the looks of the upcoming episode it's starting to wear on Sarge too...I think he feels she's going to woo Julie away. Twyla seems like a good player, even if she was bit flaky about who to vote against last time....I hope she lasts a little longer, at least longer than Eliza.

Bye bye Rory - just a tip .. if you've got black skin the one way to make your nose look huge is to paint white stripes over it how much paint did they leave them for one little flag?? Did they think they were going to paint the whole island?

I know why people don't like Ami but for some reason I can't help but like her But my favouite is Twila (sp?) but if she continues to be confused an stuck between the tribes she'll go out quickly.

Don't like Chris.

I like Twila as well but I don't think she should have gone with the women and voted Rory off. But otherwise I like her.

What happened? Chris voting off Sarge? Everyone voting off Sarge except Chad? What happened? The tables could have been turned---the guys and Twila and perhaps Scout banding together to take off Eliza, or the guys and Twila and Eliza banding together to take out Scout. I'm bewildered.

I just can't believe that the men had the chance to go into the merge 5 a piece and then voted of another bloke making it 6 women and 4 men. I'm not meaning to be sexist, but did they seriously think that the women would start voting each other off in that scenario? I'm embarassed to call myself male after that one. DOOOOOH!

I'm not sure what Chris or Twila are up to, voting off Sarge. If Chris thinks the rift between the women is going to save him, he's in for a big surprise. Poor Chad, talk about a look of shock and dismay .

Twila probably felt safer going with the women, but Chad's strategy (an alliance of Sarge, Chris, himself, Twila and winning over Eliza) would have broken up the women's advantage of numbers.

I agree with the opinion about Ami. She is gloating and taking advantage of her hold over the women. Hopefully the next couple of immunity challenges will be physical ones that the men will be up to. When the men are all gone, it'll be break out the litter box 'cause the cattiness will be rampant .

I think I now officially boycott this season of "Survivor". And maybe I AM sexist - but I think in playing a game gender should not be such a huge issue. It clearly is one. Sarge going was bad but tonight's evictee was just not right. The men are a pack of snakes, too, make no mistake. But how Ami stays and everyone with hair on their armpits gets gone truly galls me. I hope Chris is packed up and ready for next week. If it stops quacking and stops waddling I'd call it a dead duck. I almost hope Ami gets to face the jury. They ought to have a grand whack at her! (And what's so bad about Eliza?).
