Usually when i make a post on the (Movies & Television) forum, i always write, favorites, this time i'm writing about worst favorites.
I have many different kinds of favorite movies,ok movies, but we can't leeve out our worst favorite movies, these movies need to be noticed too.
If you watch lots of movies there is probably at least one movie that you really disliked, what are they?
My worst favorite movies are, gigli, and What's the Worst Thing That Could Happen? And to be honest, that movie is the worst think that could happen.
i would like to know about your worst favorite movie is.

Well a couple of films spring to mind. Worst British film has to be 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. This over-hyped piece of nonsense (and completely unfunny too) got right up my nose. Hugh Grant plays the lead role and that's usually enough to put me off any film! This movie depicts the British as Upper class, sexually repressed, arrogant, pompous etc. all the usual stereotypes are re-inforced here. Worst American film? That'll have to be 'Independence Day'. The saying 'Don't believe the hype' really rings true concerning this feeble effort. A feeble script, bad acting (always avoid anything that has Will Smith in it) and Jeff Golblum just playing himself as usual. Runners-up: Godzilla, Armageddon, Notting Hill, Jurassic Park and virtually any super-hero movie.

My vote Vanilla Sky. I went to see it with a friend who dislikes Fantasy and Sci- Fi (my personal fav). The ads gave the impression that it was a love story. Not my usual cup of tea, but I caved as my friend really wanted to see it. I laughed as we left the theater, what started as her kind of movie and ended up with mine. Too bad the plot was so convoluted, it was lousy as any genre of movie.

I have a few movies that I thought were terrible. One was a Stephen King movie called Maximum Overdrive. It was about machines coming alive and taking over the world. I guess it was supposed to be scary, but I was laughing my head off. The acting was horrible, and some of the parts where people died grisly deaths just cracked me up. I call this movie a good reason why Stephen King should never direct anything. Another movie I thought was awful was Wishmaster. It's about an evil genie that grants your wishes, but with a terrible price attached. Once that happens, he possesses your soul, or something like that. Anyway, I found a major plot hole in it. The genie (called a Djinn) said that he had to grant 3 wishes to the woman who released him, but then he's walking around the city granting other people's wishes too when they inadvertantly say that they would like something to happen (like a pretty salesgirl who admits that she'd like to be attractive forever, and he turns her into a mannequin). Now, I could be wrong here, but I thought a genie could only grant wishes to the person who released him, not just any random stranger. And besides, I thought the movie was stupid anyway. There are two other movies that I can't stand, and I think there are a lot of people who would disagree with me. One is The Exorcist. I know this is a very famous movie, but I did not think it was scary. And I have issues with needles, so the needle scene ruined everything for me. The other movie is Gladiator. I was bored to death. Those are my picks!

There are so many horrible movies around with terrible acting. Just check out the $1.00 DVD bin and you'll find all sorts of bad movies.
However, I could name a few more movies that were quite popular, even won Academy Awards, that I thought were boring and that I even fell asleep through. The Accidental Tourist, Yentl, Ace Ventura, Pet Detective, and all of the Rocky movies.

If there's one thing I hate, it's that almost every American movie has guns in it. Even the kids cartoons! Well, my fave worst movie would be... Einstein. Not the actual script I dislike, it's just... How many stereotypes can you get into one movie! It's the same with Kangaroo Jack! I love that movie, but I hate the way they made the Aussies! It's like, "The sheila's dunny is over there" and how they think that we all live in the outback, and the adults are at the pub all day! Geez, give us a little credit!

Mexico how did you not like Independence Day!? I dont think its favorite movie material, but I wouldnt call it one of the worst movies ever made! And Will Smith isnt that bad of an actor. Have you seen I, Robot? And Jurassic Park!? And Dreamwolf, not all American movies with guns are bad. I dont know, maybe you havent seen the right ones! Die Hard, Terminator 1 and 2, The Patriot, The Untouchables, Robocop, theirs hundreds...
I dont mean to offend anyone or anything, I guess we just have completely different movies we like.

DreamWolf,
You can adjust the time on your posts by going to "My Home", "Preferences", and "Offset Time" (third option from the top). Change it from zero to 14...

Sorry Monkey774 but 'Independence Day' is one of the worst films it's ever been my displeasure to watch. It was a complete mess from start to finish and Will Smith really was awful here, but so were the rest of the cast. The only decent bit in the film was when the White House got blitzed. The rest of the film is a great cure for insomnia. 'Jurassic Park'? Don't start me off again please! But at the end of the day it's each to their own, different people have different tastes and long may that continue.

There are tons of movies I've never seen, but I have exacting standards to the ones I HAVE seen. Frankly, I'm a sucker for kitch, so cheasy old horror movies with bad special effects are far preferable to just your garden-variety bad movie. I dig them. With that in mind there are still some movies I really can't stand. A short list would include Lost Highway, Sphere (another great Crichton novel that was butchered by hollywood), Highlander II and Ghost in the Machine, which had no redeeming qualities as near as I can tell.
Then there are those movies that I can't be anything but indifferent too, the ones that I don't actually hate because I've never been able to make it through the whole movie out of sheer disinterest. That would include all the Rocky movies, the first two Terminator movies (the third I saw in the theater with my husband, and it was not bad) and Escape from New York.
And better still are those really terrible movies that for some nostalgic reason you can't help but be delighted by. For me it's Top Gun and Cry Baby. Cry Baby especially is just a terrible film, but darn it, I was 13 and Johnny Depp was HOT! I mean, he GROWLed! *swoon*

Sorry Pinkster, but that's your opinion. Just like I'm of the opinion that all the "Rocky" movies, "Independence Day," all the "Jurassic Park" movies, and "Godzilla" are good movies. Yes, I know you didn't say those movies are bad...someone else said that, but we all have opinions.

My top pick for worst movie ever made is "It's A Wonderful Life". No movie is more depressing for me than that one.

Gosh, I'm trying to think. I think I'm stuck in that if I call a movie "bad" it's more about my mood when looking at it than whether the movie was all that horrible. I thought "Ben Hur" was a stinker. But it wasn't to most people. Rocky should have shown up just that once; the sequels were pretty bad. I'd have to go, as naming the 'worst', as the lack of originality. I love movies. But I don't care for retreads.

Hey Reggie, everyone is entitled to their own opinion...remember that. I happen to not like Orlando Bloom or his movies.

My vote would be "Scary Movie 3". That was the dumbest movie in my opinion. For DakotaNorth, I think the Matrix was good, but I agree with you on the 2 others that they made. I think they should have stopped after the first. It didn't need more sequels.
