The new television series "Lost" aired on Wednesday, September 22nd.

"Lost" is about an airplane that crashed in a deserted isle. 48 passengers survived, including the pilot. However, the pilot ends up dead toward the end of the first half of the pilot episode, because something of gargantuan proportions is terrorizing the lost passengers. It's big...it's huge...and it's out to kill. What is it? Will the passengers band together and kill whatever it is?

I wanted to watch this really bad. But I forgot all about and it upset me greatly. *sniff, sniff* There's always next Wednesday.

Watched it last night. I liked it, but missed the first one. There is going to be a two hour special on Saturday (Oct 2) of the first episode, guess quite a few missed the premiere. Wish they would subtitle the Japanese couple's dialogue. I would have loved to have known what the guy was saying to his wife when they were on the beach .

I didn't see the first one either. I watched the new one on Wed and it was pretty good. Smallville is on at the same time though and we can't tape two things at once so we tape Smallville.
I have Youth Group on wed so I can't watch either of them at their normal times.

I will probably wait till Lost goes into reruns and watch it then.

The 2 hour "special" wasn't so special, afterall. They re-played the same episode as they ran last Wednesday, but put in enough commercials that the one hour stretched to 2. From this, I'm assuming I haven't missed the first episode. Should be a "new" episode 2 this week. If it isn't, then they can stay lost without me

Wow, it's kind of scary how quickly a show can suck you in. I think Lost is one of the most original shows to debut in a while. I especially liked the episode of the man who hunts... it really shocked me.

What happened last week? I missed the episode because I was driving to Wisconsin.

His name is Mr. Lock. I loved that episode where you don't relize that he is paralyzed until the end. My personal favorite character is Sawyer.

Sorry to say this, but I really HATE Sawyer! He's the one character I wouldn't mind being eaten by one of those boars.

My favorite characters are Locke, Hurley, and the boy Walt.

Thats the point. Sawyer is the character you love to hate. He's one of those great characters with depth.

I agree. It would be really neat if we got a compelling back story for Sawyer that explains why he is the way that he is. I'm a sucker for characters that are redeemed somehow.

I'm pretty sure that that is going to be the next episode. In the previews, you see Jack and Sayeed attacking and interogating Sawyer to find out where he is keeping a young boy's inhaler. I bet we are finally going to find out what drives the man named Sawyer.

I like Claire. I wonder if they're going to have an episode that explains her story. Now that I think of it, they'll probably show her story when she goes into labor...

I also think they will do Sawyer's back story next. I hope they don't kill him, cuz I kind of like him. There wouldn't be as much...trouble i guess you could say...if he wasn't on it.
Spoiler:

I read in TV giude that one of the main characters is going to die before this season is over!! I don't want any of them to die.

I also would like to find out Hurley's story...wonder when they will do that. hmmm...

How great was the episode last night. We have now delved into the pshce of the man who calls himself Sawyer. Whoever makes the show really knows how to imbue emotion into a scene. I love it!

I really liked the episode last night too eytank. I really wanted to see "Sawyer's" back story. I wonder what his real name is...hmmmm. Did they ever mention it?

I think that the Korean guy might also be able to speak English like the woman. He seems to know what is going on a lot more than he would if he only knew Korean.

I am looking forward to this show from your posts and one 20-30 second commercial I saw on TV the other day. We don't get it here in Australia until February 2005, oh well, I can wait that long.

It sounds like a very interesting show and not one of those 'soap' or cliched shows. I'm sick of the 'Dawson's Creek' similar shows.

Is Dominic Monaghan in this show? I thought it was him on the commercial. If so, I eagerly await this show even more. I'm a 'Lord of the Rings' fan and am curious to see other performance by actors in LOTR.

Yep, he is. My first thought when I saw the first episode was Hey, there be Hobbits here!

I think he's doing pretty impressive job on this show.

lol Yeah I think he is doing a great job too. He is one of my fav characters as I think I said above...

The next episode is about the pregnant girl, Claire, I believe. I'm glad cuz I wanted to find out about her..from what I've read and seen it looks like it is going to be good...like all the other ones!!

I keep on missing Lost. It is at a very bad time for me. Could someone please fill me in on the episodes after the Sawyer episode. I watched the end of the episode two days ago, and was so confused. Who is Ethan? What is going on?

I think Ethan is one of the people who got stranded along with that girl that Sayyid found. If you didn't see the episode about Sayyid, he found the French girl who was sending out the transmission, she was kind of weird and he managed to get back to camp to tell the others. In wednesdays episode we learned about Claire. Her boyfriend(the babies dad) said they should make thier predicament work but later decided it was a bad idea. Claire went to this psychatrist who said that if she didn't raise the baby then it would be very dangerous, she was the only one who could raise him, because of her goodness. Claire was going to put the baby up for adoption but at the last minute she decided she didn't want to. She went back to the psych. and he told her she had to get on that specific flight to go meet people in LA. It is later said by Charlie that the psych. must have known the plane was going to crash. (which is debateable, depending on if you believe that kind of stuff). Well anyway...Claire starts to go into labor so Charlie runs to tell Jack, but on the way there he runs into Ethan and tells him to go get Jack. Charlie goes back to Claire to help her and it appears that it was a false labor. Needless to say Ethan never goes to get Jack and comes back and supposedly kidnaps Charlie and Claire.
Throughout the show Hurley had been takning a census of the people on the Island because Claire said that she had been attacked while she was sleeping and Hurley thought it would be a good idea if they knew where everyone was living. Hurley gets the list of the people who were on the plane from Sawyer. Everyone is on the list except Ethan. Hurley runs to tell Jack this. In the coming attractions (i don't know if you saw them) they show Jack and some other people running to Claire and Charlie..when they get there no one is there.
So I am guessing that Ethan is one of the previously stranded people, although I don't know why he would want to capture Claire and Charlie, or try to kill Claire and her baby. (I think he is the one who attacked her at night)

Well that was kind of long but I hope you got the basic idea. I believe there is a website you can go on...that tells you what happens in an episode of a show if you miss it. Let me check and see what it is....ah! here it is: http://www.televisionwithoutpity.com/
you just click on the show you want to read about and so on...you'll figure it out. Hope I helped a little bit.

frodobeh, can I correct you on one thing there?
Claire went to a psychic, not a psychiatrist. Little bit different.
