'Moonraker' gets my vote as the worst James Bond film ever. Roger Moore played this one strictly for laughs. An unbelievably corny plot (even by Bond standards) climaxed with a Star-Wars style laser shoot-out in outer space.
Less British secret service more George Lucas!
After 'Moonraker' Roger Moore carried on with his light-hearted 'just for laughs' Bond and virtually killed the series off. At least Timothy Dalton tried to get the more serious Bond back.
The Bond films, in my opinion, have never really recovered since 'Moonraker' hit our screens 25 years ago.

Are you joking? There are so many James Bond films that are worse than moonraker. How about that ghastly Never Say Never Again?

I know this isn't the discusion but here are my favorites:
The Living Daylights
Licensed To Kill
Goldfinger
From Russia With Love
Goldeneye

but at least in 'Never' we get to see Sean Connery again
I do think that 'Thunderball' was a better version of that plot line

Sean Connery is what made it so bad. we had already seen his excellent work in all of his previous films, and then Never Say Never Again. You expect so much from him, that when the film doesn't deliver, it just kills you. You don't have the same problem with Roger moore, who you don't really anticipate to be good in a James Bond flick

In my opinion, ALL the James Bond movies are horrible.

I'd say all the ones before Pierce Brosnan, although Sean Connery's are better than the others.

I just can't get into the earlier ones... Or maybe it's just that I love Judi Dench and PIerce Brosnan that they're too missing in the other movies for me to like them!

I've got to agree with you McB, Brosnan certainly 'kept his end up' as far as the Bond character went, he certainly lived up to (and I belive beyond) the standard of Sean Connery. Funny though, for the quintessential (purportedly) Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman have done the very best! Crikey knows what 'they' were thinking of with George Lazenby (does anyone remember him I wonder) and as for Timothy Dalton, I've never seen a single one of his Bond outings, and I don't intend to!

There is a difference in style between the Brosnan Bond and all the Bonds that came before them. The other Bond movies were more intersted in character and plot than in flashy special effects and all action, like in the Brosnan pics. In my opinion (which matters to evryone I'm sure), the only good Brosnan Bond was the first. The others had a terrible storyline, and boring villains. Give us back Ernst Stavro Blofeld. We miss him.

every actor that takes up the Bond role
must do it his own way
you really can't model your performance on others
always invites comparison though

George Lazenby...'Her Majesty's Secret Service'
interesting movie...who was the girl in that movie again?
I mean, the one he married.

Blofeld is dead by the way.
Bond kills him at the beginning of one of his flicks
revenge is a nice thing

but SPECTRE still lives on

George Lazenby in "OHMSS" - married
Diana Rigg's character "Countess Teresa
(Tracy) DiVicenzo", only to see her
get shot at the end....

And the scene in which Blofeld was
"killed" was in "For Your Eyes Only"

I have them all, but prefer the
"Connery" Bond movies.....

I think that the Connery movies had the superior actor for Bond, but I think the two Dalton movies were the superior movies.

that Bond flick with her in it
and also...Emma Peel

what is it with really great british females?
getting these really fun spy roles?
