I am very partial to a cheese toastie, that is a toasted sandwich made in a sandwich maker in case we have a language difference. All I do is heap up the grated strong Cheddar, I add nothing.

What is your favourite toasted sandwich?

Same as you, Sue, PLUS some very very crispy bacon. Oh yum.

I like cheese and ham now. But when I was little my mum used to tell me off for making chocolate spread ones - they're yummy!

Cream cheese triangles, melted, make the very best toasted sandwiches possible.

Second place is Red Leicester cheese, and Red Leicester only.

My favorite toasted sandwich is a toasted bagel with cream cheese. Delicious!

It depends on the brand of sandwich maker. I had one many years ago, on which I would crack an egg onto the bottom slice of bread, place some mushrooms on top, then seal with the other slice of bread, the result was awesome, or so it seemed at the time, yolk runny, mushrooms cooked, what a delight. Thinking back sandwich makers were new on the market at the time, and so was I, new to living alone, new to college, and certainly new to cooking. One other thought, are toasted sandwich makers unique to the British Isles?

Half-way around the world for a sandwich maker, or a sandwich, and I thought only me and Homer J. That has to be a story worth the telling. Share it, I mean the sandwich, Canadalicious!!
