This question came up in the hourlies today:
Question 3

[ Music : Best Of Intentions Song (Ba - Bk) by momof3forever ]

This is the first release off of this CD?

True
False
and I put in a correction and pressed the send button as follows:
This came up in the hourly quiz today. I have no idea what it is asking for, the song off which CD? Maybe it is not a suitable question for the hourlies?
BUT.... is the quiz creator the person to ask about this?
Surely 'momof3forever'cannot change the hourly quiz contents herself? Where should these sort of questions be sent? I have long puzzled over this. There is nothing wrong with the question in the context of her original quiz, but what if it doesnt make sense/ is incomplete in the hourlies? Am I missing something?

This is probably from an older quiz because now all the questions are supposed to stand on their own, and an editor would have sent it back for correction.

The quiz author should change the wording so it doesn't rely on the previous question to make sense.

Let one of the Music eds know about this (Bruyere?) as they would be able to clarify the quiz question as well, especially because there are many authors who no longer frequent the site.

I'll take a look Ren, this is a clearcut case of something that can be changed and the sort of thing we'd never allow now. At the moment we're discouraging people from even mentioning the CD or track numbers etc because they are so different in each country. We are also inviting people to give a lead in sentence too but it's slow going.
I mean something like Which of the following fifties songs has this lyric in it? Instead of a quiz named fifties songs and then a lyric floating in space.

I can tell right away it's an older quiz because there was a question mark on a true false. This is because at one time, the software apparently wouldn't recognize a statement instead of a question. We send things back for that now.

However, if you do get something that doesn't make sense because it's out of context, let's say a riddle with multiple choice answers that appears on your daily, then, bear in mind that the person has no idea or may not know what you're talking about if you don't mention the daily.
And, what is more, they may have a perfectly valid quiz but it has a few questions that aren't adapted to the daily.

We are working on a solution without excluding good quizzes.
I appreciate your concern because it is hard for the quizwriter to know what the correction is about, there are many older quizzes popping up that normally wouldn't get much notice.

Thank goodness that one is a quickfix, not all of them are.
