Anyone been following this story? (Click link below for an overview) Sentences were handed down today and six men have been sentenced to gaol - out of an island population of just forty seven.

As horrible as the charges have been I think the interesting thing about this is battle between English law and island law and how those charged are saying that England has no jurisdiction over the island. An appeal will be held in February as to whether England has the right to hold power of the Pitcairns.

Yes I`ve been following the trial. I think that scientists would have years of work studying the social interactions of the inhabitants. They are appearing to me as being similar to some undiscovered savage tribe.
